An object of the present invention is to transfer all of the exhaust heat from the topping gas turbine cycle and thereby improve the overall efficiency (i.e., the efficiency of the topping cycle plus bottoming cycle). The present invention provides a hydrogen-oxygen burning turbine plant which comprises a closed-loop gas turbine cycle including a compressor 2, a hydrogen-oxygen combustor 21 and a turbine 3 and constituting a topping cycle, an exhaust gas boiler (or heat exchanger) 5 installed between the turbine outlet and the compressor inlet of this gas turbine cycle, and a bottoming cycle including an expansion turbine 6, a hydrogen-oxygen combustor 8, a condensing turbine 9 and a steam condenser 11, all of the exhaust heat from the gas turbine cycle being transferred to the bottoming cycle by means of the exhaust gas boiler, the steam that is the combustion product of the gas turbine cycle being extracted from the system at the inlet or outlet of the exhaust gas boiler 5 and conducted to a condensing turbine 22 or 9.

Hydrogen-oxygen burning turbine plant

A gasification furnace main body, having both a water-cooled wall structure and a duct having a water-cooled wall structure and containing therein a group of gas cooling heat-exchangers disposed within a pressure vessel, is improved in order to prevent a reduction in temperature of gas within the pressure vessel which would otherwise occur due to convection and to avoid the risk of fire and explosion which would otherwise be created by char accumulating within the pressure vessel. The improvements reside in an outlet of the duct and the inside of the pressure vessel communicating with each other at a defined location in the apparatus, a partition wall connecting the wall of the duct with an inner wall surface of the pressure vessel at a level higher than that location, and equalizing valves for placing the spaces on respective sides of the partition wall in communication with each other when a pressure difference between the respective sides of the partition wall has become a predetermined value or larger.

Pressurized gassification apparatus

The present invention has been realized in order to treat noxious and combustible gases, which are exhausted during the start-up operation of a composite coal gasification-power plant and/or released from various safety valves arranged in such power plant and which have hitherto been discharged without treatment into the atmosphere, to make it innoxious and to attain an efficient energy utilization and concerns an improvement of such a composite coal gasification-power plant, which is characterized either in that an additional combustion unit is disposed parallel to the burner of the gas-turbine electric power generating unit and is arranged so as to supply the combustion exhaust gas of this additional combustion unit to as to supply the combustion exhaust gas of this additional combustion unit to the waste heat boiler, or in that an additional combustion unit, operative to effect to burn the noxious and combustible gases exhausted from the burner during start-up and/or those released from safety valves arranged in the power plant and to supply the combustion exhaust gas to said waste heat boiler, is arranged.

Combined power generating plant

A coal gasification composite power generator which comprises a coal pulverizer in which coal is finely pulverized, a means for transferring the finely pulverized coal while drying the finely pulverized coal with a drying gas, a coal feeding means for feeding the coal from the transfer means to a gasification furnace in which the coal is converted to a combustible gas, a gas turbine connected to the gasification furnace and driven with the combustible gas fed from the gasification furnace, and an exhaust gas boiler to which an exhaust gas from the gas turbine is passed to recover the heat of the exhaust gas. The power generator is characterized by further comprising a device for withdrawing part of the combustion exhaust gas at an upstream and a downstream side of the exhaust gas boiler and mixing the withdrawn gases and a pipe connecting the withdrawing device and the pulverizer, so that the mixed gas is passed to the pulverizer.
