The present disclosure is directed cable connectors (), electrical modules () and assemblies thereof. The cable connectors can provide a sealed connection having a rating of IP 66/67 between electrical modules such as lighting fixtures and an insulated cable (). Cable connectors can be quickly and easily engaged and disengaged with electrical modules to create customizable electrical assemblies. The cable connector can have an upper portion () having piercing pins () for penetrating the cable at one end and contacting terminals () of the module at another end, and a lower portion for clamping against the cable and locking to the upper portion. A gel mat (A) can be provided in an area surrounding the piercing pins for sealing the area from water and dust. The module can include a skirt for engaging with an elastomeric sleeve on the upper portion to create a seal when the module is mated with the cable connector.

Weather-resistant cable connector, electrical modules and weather-resistant assemblies thereof

A shielded electrical connector is provided for mounting on a printed circuit board. The connector includes a dielectric housing mounting a plurality of conductive terminals having tail portions for connection to appropriate circuit traces on the printed circuit board. A shielding shell is mounted over the dielectric housing and includes a top wall, opposite side walls and a rear wall. A bottom portion of the rear wall closest to the printed circuit board is connected to a ground pad on the circuit board by a surface connection.

An electrical connector system includes a connector mounted on a printed circuit board and mateable with a mating connector in a mating direction at an acute angle to the circuit board. A connector housing mounts at least two sets of first and second terminals. The connector housing is mountable on the circuit board in a mounting direction generally perpendicular to the board. The first terminals have tail portions extending in the mounting direction generally perpendicular to the circuit board. The second terminals have tail portions extending at an acute angle to the mounting direction. The printed circuit board has holes for receiving the tail portions of the first terminals and elongated slots for receiving the angled tail portions of the second terminals. The slots are sufficiently long to accommodate distal ends of the angled tail portions which extend at the acute angle to the mounting direction.
