Methods are described for producing a plant with altered seed yield comprising transformation of a plant with a genetic construct including a polynucleotide encoding of a polypeptide with the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or a variant or fragment thereof. Also provided by the disclosed methods are isolated polypeptides, polynucleotides, constructs and vectors useful for producing a plant with altered seed yield. The methods also provide plant cells and plants transformed to contain and express the polypeptides, polynucleotides and constructs. Plants produced by the disclosed methods are further provided.

The invention provides methods, polynucleotides and polypeptides useful for producing or selecting plants with increased tolerance to at least one environmental stress selected from drought, cold, freezing, heat and salinity. The invention also provides constructs, cells, plant cells and plants comprising the polynucleotides of the invention. The invention also provides plants produced by the methods of the invention. The invention also provides groups of plants selected by the methods of the invention.

Methods and compositions for the improvement of plant tolerance to environmental stresses

The invention provides methods and compositions for producing plant with altered biomass, the methods comprising the step of altering the expression and/or activity of the polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO:1, or a variant thereof, in a plant cell or plant. The invention also provides a polypeptide comprising the sequence of SEQ ID NO:1, and fragments of variants thereof the sequence. The invention also provides polynucleotides encoding such polypeptide sequences. The invention also provides constructs, cells and plants comprising such polynucleotides.

Isolated stress-responsiveness promoters suitable for directing gene expression in plant cells or plants are provided, along with constructs, vectors, host cells, plant cells and plant comprising the promoters. Methods for producing plant cells or plants with modified phenotype via transformation of the plant cells or plants with the promoters are also provided.
