The method of maintaining a first flow rate through a first valve in a fluid delivery system, the fluid delivery system including a and a plurality of fluid valves in fluid communication with the pump, and a controller controlling the pressure generated by the pump and the position of the plurality of valves. The method includes providing the first flow rate of a fluid pressurized by the pump through the first valve, receiving a request for a second flow rate of the fluid through a second valve, determining a predicted effect on the first flow rate based on the request, adjusting at least one of the position of the first valve and the pressure generated by the pump to maintain the first flow rate based on the predicted effect, and adjusting the position of the second valve to provide the second flow rate of the fluid through the second valve.

A fire truck operable to automatically refill a water tank comprises a first pressure transducer coupled to an intake inlet of the pump and operable to measure an intake pressure, a second pressure transducer coupled to a discharge outlet of the pump and operable to measure a discharge pressure, a first discharge pipe coupled between the discharge outlet of the pump and a fire hose, a second discharge pipe coupled between the discharge outlet of the pump and the water tank, a control valve disposed in the second discharge pipe, and a controller operable to automatically sense a low water level condition of the tank, and automatically control the engine speed, the pump speed, and the control valve so that adequate water supply to the fire hose via the first discharge pipe is automatically given priority and maintained while automatically refilling the water tank via the second discharge pipe.

A control system comprises a central controller adapted to receive user input and commands, and in communication with a plurality of remote sensors adapted to detect various vehicular parameters: water pressure, water level, water flow rate, engine speed, pump speed, etc., and firefighter parameters: air tank level, air flow rate, body temperature, respiration rate, Osaturation level, ambient temperature, and presence of hazardous chemicals and radiation. The system further comprises a plurality of remote actuators adapted to receive commands from the central controller and automatically carry out an operation in response to the received command. A wireless communication subsystem is adapted to receive and transmit sensed parameters from the plurality of remote sensors to the central controller, and transmit user input and commands from the central controller to the plurality of remote actuators. A central display screen is adapted to present sensed parameters and warnings.

A fire hose deployment device for a firefighting robotic vehicle comprises a wagon body having a bottom and two generally vertical sides, a front tongue coupled to the wagon body and hitched to a rear hitch of the robotic vehicle. The wagon body has left and right wheels coupled to the wagon near the rear of the wagon body, and the wagon body carries a fire hose with a first end coupled to a nozzle on the robotic vehicle and a second end coupled to a fluid source.

The control system may include a controller configured to operably connect over a network to a first valve controller controlling a status of a first valve in response to an input from the controller, a second valve controlling a status of a second valve in response to an input from the controller, and a governor operably controlling a power source in response to an input from the controller. The control system may further comprise a touchscreen display operably connected to the controller, the display configured to display the status of the first and second valves and configured to receive an input from a user, wherein controller generates a manipulatable icon displayed on the touchscreen display, a manipulation of the icon generating the input from the controller to the first valve controller.

A combination scene lighting and traffic control system includes a scene illumination apparatus for illuminating an emergency scene, and a detachable adapter for converting the illumination apparatus into a traffic light. The scene illumination apparatus includes at least two separately actuatable lighting elements within a tripod-mounted housing. A control device allows simultaneous actuation of both lighting elements when maximum illumination is desired or actuation of a single element if less illumination is desired. The adapter holds two different colored filters, each of which overlies a different one of the lighting elements when the adapter is secured to the illumination apparatus, so that one colored light will be visible to approaching motorists when a first of the lighting elements is actuated and a different colored light will be visible when a second of the lighting elements is actuated. The filter colors are preferably associated with traditional traffic control colors such as red and green, so that approaching motorists will stop or go depending on which color light is visible.

A lighting system for use with an emergency vehicle comprises at least one elongated lighting bar mounted to an exterior surface of the emergency vehicle, the lighting bar comprises a plurality of lighting elements operable to emit light, the at least one lighting bar operable to be placed in a first substantially horizontal lowered position and a second substantially vertical raised position, and a controller electrically coupled to the at least one lighting bar and configured to receive user input and controllably place the at least one lighting bar in one of a raised and lowered positions in response to the user input, the controller further configurable to operate the plurality of lighting elements in a predetermined repeating on/off sequence involving increasing number of lit lighting elements and increasing light intensity over time.

An electrical power generator subsystem is powered by the hydraulic fluid and operable to generate electrical power, wherein the frequency and voltage of the generated power is substantially regulated by controlling the hydraulic fluid input to the electrical power generator subsystem. A hydraulic fluid cooling device receives and cools the hydraulic fluid returned from the water pumping subsystem, chemical foam subsystem, and electrical power generator subsystem. A hydraulic reservoir further stores the cooled hydraulic fluid.

Hydraulic system and method for delivering electricity, water, air, and foam in a firefighting apparatus

A water supply control system for use with a fire hydrant comprises a four-way valve assembly having a first inlet port for coupling to a nozzle of the fire hydrant via a fire hose, the four-way valve assembly operable to selectively open and close the inlet and outlet ports according to an operating mode of the four-way valve assembly, a stable and sturdy platform substantially supporting the weight of the four-way valve assembly, a flexible tether strap secured to the platform at a first end and having a fastener at a second end for releasably coupling to the fire hydrant, a status indicator mounted on the four-way valve assembly operable to provide a visual indication of the operation mode of the four-way valve assembly, and a scene light mounted on the four-way assembly operable to provide high-intensity illumination.

Water supply control system

A control system for a pumping apparatus consisting of an engine-driven primary pump includes an intake pressure regulating system for maintaining the intake pressure above a preset low value, a discharge pressure regulating system for maintaining the discharge pressure below a preset maximum value, and a master controller for monitoring, recording, and controlling the intake and discharge pressure regulating systems and other components of the system. The discharge pressure regulating system includes a pump governor which varies the engine RPM and operates a relief valve in response to fluctuations in discharge pressure. The intake pressure regulating system includes a reserve tank that is automatically maintained at a preset level which determines the minimum intake pressure of the system. The system may also include a priming pump, foam tanks, foam pumps, bottled nonflammable gas, and an air compressor.

A vehicular integrated light assembly comprises a first and second pluralities of LEDs arranged on a circuit board, and a controller electrically coupled to the first and second pluralities of LEDs. The light assembly further comprises a housing and at a lens hermetically sealing the circuit board and first and second pluralities of LEDs within the housing. The controller is operable to operate in a warning light mode in which the first plurality of LEDs emit a bright light in a first predetermined color and flash in a first predetermined sequence, and the second plurality of LEDs emit a bright light in a second predetermined color and flash in an alternating sequence from the first predetermined sequence. The controller is further operable to transition to a scene light mode in which the second plurality of LEDs emit a steady bright light in the second predetermined color to illuminate the surroundings.
