Proposed is a carbon dioxide conversion system and method. More particularly, proposed is an eco-friendly carbon dioxide conversion system and method, the system and the method returning, in the recycling of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction off-gas, a part of the off-gas to a Fischer-Tropsch reactor and producing a synthetic natural gas through methanation of the remainder of the off-gas, thereby improving overall energy efficiency and carbon efficiency, and thus a useful hydrocarbon fuel is produced from carbon dioxide, thereby providing a carbon dioxide-reducing effect.

Carbon dioxide conversion process and system therefor

A system and method for converting carbon dioxide are proposed. The system for converting carbon dioxide includes a carbon monoxide generator for generating carbon monoxide through a reverse water gas shift reaction and a hydrocarbon generator for producing a hydrocarbon through a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction, whereby the carbon monoxide generator is packed both with a catalyst for the reverse water gas shift reaction and with a catalyst for the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction, thus increasing the CO yield in the carbon monoxide generator even at a low temperature compared to when the catalyst for the reverse water gas shift reaction is used alone, ultimately increasing the hydrocarbon yield in the hydrocarbon generator. Moreover, the energy of the exothermic Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction can be used as the energy required for the endothermic reverse water gas shift reaction, thereby increasing energy efficiency and processing yield and thus reducing operation and maintenance costs.

Energy-efficient system and method for carbon dioxide conversion

The present disclosure relates to a bifunctional catalyst for manufacturing a hydrocarbon from carbon dioxide and hydrogen. The bifunctional catalyst includes a carbon composite including cobalt (Co) and nitrogen (N) atoms forming a coordinate bond with the cobalt, and metal particles which exhibit a catalytic activity for a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction and which are dispersed on the inner pore surface and/or the outer surface of the carbon composite support, thus simultaneously promoting a reverse water gas shift reaction and the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction.

Bifunctional catalyst for hydrogenation of carbon dioxide, and method for preparing hydrocarbon by using same

The present invention relates to an anti-coking catalyst having a physical property of reducing coke formation, which comprises a solid acid catalyst containing gadolinium (Gd) on the surface, a preparation method thereof, and a use thereof. The preparation method includes a first step of determining the amount of gadolinium (Gd) or a Gd-providing precursor to be used relative to the total weight of the solid acid catalyst, which reducing the coking of a specific solid acid catalyst below a specific level under a specific reaction condition; and a second step of preparing a Gd-containing solid acid catalyst using the amount determined in the first step. The catalyst according to the present invention is a catalyst in which an appropriate weight ratio of gadolinium is supported on the surface of a pure solid acid substance or solid acid substance on which a specific metal is supported. Therefore, the production of coke on the catalyst surface is inhibited while maintaining the activity of the solid acid catalyst in a hydrocarbon conversion reaction, and as a result, the catalyst of the present invention exhibits an effect of improving its lifespan.

Gd-containing, anti-coking solid acid catalysts and preparation method and use thereof

A method for producing high-efficiency methanol capable of reducing emission of carbon dioxide. The method includes: a first step of preparing mixed gas by using steam and natural gas as raw materials and converting Chydrocarbon contained in the natural gas into methane on a catalyst; a second step of preparing a synthesis gas including carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen by reforming the mixed gas in a reformer filled with a reforming catalyst; and a third step of preparing methanol by using the synthesis gas as the raw material and reacting the synthesis gas.

Disclosed is a method for directly synthesizing monocyclic aromatic compounds and long-chain olefin compounds from a carbon dioxide-rich synthetic gas and, specifically, a method for directly synthesizing monocyclic aromatic compounds and long-chain olefin compounds from a carbon dioxide-rich synthetic gas, the method comprising a step of preparing a C-Cshort-chain hydrocarbon by Fischer-Tropsch (FT) synthesis and a step of preparing monocyclic aromatic compounds and long-chain olefin compounds by dehydrogenating the short-chain hydrocarbon products, and maximizing the yield of the short-chain hydrocarbon by using, as a synthetic gas to be used in FT synthesis, a carbon dioxide-rich synthetic gas in which the molar ratio of hydrogen, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide is delimited to a specific range, and maximizing the yield of the monocyclic aromatic compounds or the long-chain olefin compounds by specifying the composition of a catalyst to be used in the dehydrogenation and the temperature and pressure condition.

Method for preparing monocyclic aromatic compounds and long-chain olefin compounds from carbon dioxide-rich synthesis gas

The present invention relates to a method for producing the activated catalyst for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis comprising: a first step of reducing a catalyst for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis; a second step of preparing liquid hydrocarbon in which a part or all of molecular oxygen is eliminated; and a third step of introducing the reduced catalyst prepared in the first step into the liquid hydrocarbon prepared in the second step while blocking its contact with air. Since the reduced catalyst used for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis is introduced into liquid hydrocarbon from which molecular oxygen is removed or coated by liquid hydrocarbon, the catalyst for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis activated based on the present invention maintains a high activity even if exposed to the air for a long time, thereby easily facilitating the long-term storage and long-distance transfer of the reduced catalyst.

Storing method of activated catalysts for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis

The invention relates to a reactor system, comprising a heat-exchange unit and a reaction unit that are assembled together into a structure. The heat-exchange unit has a plurality of plate or corrugated-plate heat exchangers, and is formed so as to attachable/detachable to/from the reaction unit and insertable into the latter. Accordingly, a catalyst may be attached to a heat-transfer surface of a heat exchanger by a washcoat method or the like, thus maximizing heat-transfer efficiency and enabling the easy removal or reattachment of the catalyst when the enabling the easy removal or reattachment of the catalyst at the end of the lifespan of the catalyst.

Provided is a preparation method for a mesoporous zeolite, particularly a method for preparing mesoporous zeolite through a simple process without using costly materials such as an organic amine template or a surfactant. The method includes 1) forming a synthetic zeolite gel by mixing a silica precursor, an aluminum precursor and water and aging the resulted mixture; 2) carrying out zeolite synthesis by subjecting the synthetic zeolite gel to a hydrothermal reaction; 3) cooling the synthesized zeolite from the above step 2), then adding a basic solution thereto and allowing them to react, thereby obtaining a mesoporous zeolite slurry; and 4) washing the mesoporous zeolite slurry with water, drying and firing it, thereby obtaining a mesoporous zeolite.

Reaction device for producing hydrocarbons from synthesis gas

The present invention relates to: a catalyst activation method for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis; a catalyst regeneration method for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis; and a method for producing a liquid or solid hydrocarbon by using the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction. The temperatures required for a metal carbide producing and activating reaction is markedly lower than existing catalyst activation temperatures, and the catalyst can be activated under conditions that are the same as Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction conditions, and thus there is no need for separate reduction equipment in the reactor, and a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis catalyst which has been used for a long time can be regenerated within the reactor without the catalyst being isolated or extracted from the reactor.

The present invention relates to a catalyst for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis which has excellent heat transfer capability. This catalyst contains (1) central core particle or particles made of a heat transfer material (HTM) selected from the group consisting of a metal, a metal oxide, a ceramic, and a mixture thereof; and (2) outer particle layer which surrounds the central core particles and is attached to the surfaces of the central core particles by a binder material layer. The outer particle layer has a support and catalyst particles in a powder form containing metal particles disposed on the support. The catalyst having such a dual particle structure shows excellent heat transfer capability and, thus, exhibits high selectivity to a target hydrocarbon. Therefore, the catalyst of the present invention is useful in a fixed-bed reactor for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis for producing hydrocarbons from synthetic gas.

Catalyst for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis having excellent heat transfer capability

Disclosed is a method for methanol synthesis using synthesis gas obtained from reforming of natural gas with carbon dioxide. First, synthesis gas is obtained from steam carbon dioxide reforming of methane, in which steam reforming of natural gas is carried out simultaneously with carbon dioxide reforming of methane, by using a catalyst (Ni/Ce/MgAlO, or Ni/Ce&#x2014;Zr/MgAlO) and processing condition capable of maintaining a predetermined ratio of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen [H/(2CO+3CO)=0.85-1.15]. Next, methanol synthesis is carried out by using the obtained synthesis gas and a catalyst system suitable for methanol synthesis with minimum byproduct formation (a catalyst system including a Cu&#x2014;Zn&#x2014;Al oxide containing CuO, ZnO, and AlOat a predetermined ratio in combination with a cerium-zirconium oxide obtained by a sol-gel process). In addition, unreacted synthesis gas remaining after the operation of methanol synthesis is recycled efficiently to improve the carbon availability (methane and COavailability) and energy efficiency in the overall process.

Method for methanol synthesis using synthesis gas generated by combined reforming of natural gas with carbon dioxide

Disclosed are a catalyst for synthesis of methanol from synthesis gas and a method for preparing the same. The catalyst includes a Cu&#x2014;Zn&#x2014;Al oxide containing CuO, ZnO and AlOin a predetermined ratio or Cu&#x2014;Zn&#x2014;Al&#x2014;Zr oxide containing CuO, ZnO, AlOand ZrOin a predetermined ratio, in combination with a cerium-zirconium oxide obtained by a sol-gel process. As compared to the existing Cu&#x2014;Zn&#x2014;Al catalysts for synthesizing methanol, the catalyst disclosed herein inhibits formation of byproducts and improves yield of methanol. Therefore, it is possible to improve methanol purification efficiency and carbon conversion efficiency.

Catalyst for synthesizing methanol from synthesis gas and preparation method thereof

Disclosed are a catalyst for preparing synthesis gas from natural gas and carbon dioxide, and a method for preparing the same. More particularly, a combined reforming process is performed as an economical way of using carbon dioxide, wherein steam reforming of natural gas is carried out simultaneously with carbon dioxide reforming of methane in such a manner that a predetermined ratio of carbon monoxide/carbon dioxide/hydrogen (H/(2CO+3CO)=0.85-1.15) is maintained. In this manner, the catalyst is used to prepare synthesis gas suitable for methanol synthesis and Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. Disclosed also is a method for preparing synthesis gas on a specific catalyst consisting of Ni/Ce/MgAlOx or Ni/Ce-Zr/MgAlOx. The catalyst is inhibited from deactivation caused by generation of cokes during the reaction as well as deactivation caused by reoxidation of nickel with water added during the reaction. Therefore, the catalyst shows excellent activity as compared to other catalysts for use in combined reforming.
