Disclosed are a separator for secondary batteries with enhanced stability and a method of manufacturing the separator. The separator can prevent self-discharge which may occur when a porous non-woven fabric material is used for a separator; can perform a shutdown function at a high temperature of 200° C. or less; and can avoid even under harsh conditions of high temperatures, deterioration in stability caused by internal short-circuit of positive and negative electrodes. In particular, the separator for secondary batteries of the present invention includes a porous non-woven fabric material impregnated with a baroplastic polymer powder and pores of the porous non-woven fabric material are filled with the baroplastic polymer powder by pressing an assembly of the secondary battery.

Separator for secondary batteries with enhanced stability and method of manufacturing the same

A method of manufacturing the all-solid battery includes steps of: forming a cathode layer; forming an anode layer; forming an electrolyte layer between the cathode layer and the anode layer; and forming an insulation layer using a baroplastic polymer at an edge portion of the battery. The step of forming the insulation layer comprises: forming a coating layer through coating of the edge portion of the battery with the baroplastic polymer; and shaping the baroplastic polymer through pressing of the coating layer.

All-solid battery and method of manufacturing the same

Disclosed are a separator for secondary batteries with enhanced stability and a method of manufacturing the separator. The separator can prevent self-discharge which may occur when a porous non-woven fabric material is used for a separator; can perform a shutdown function at a high temperature of 200&#xb0; C. or less; and can avoid even under harsh conditions of high temperatures, deterioration in stability caused by internal short-circuit of positive and negative electrodes. In particular, the separator for secondary batteries of the present invention includes a porous non-woven fabric material impregnated with a baroplastic polymer powder and pores of the porous non-woven fabric material are filled with the baroplastic polymer powder by pressing an assembly of the secondary battery.

A lithium ion battery including a core-shell structured fire extinguishing particle is disclosed. When the battery is overheated to a predetermined temperature, a shell of the fire extinguishing particle coated on one surface or both surfaces of a porous separator is melted, a fire extinguishing material disposed in an inner space of the shell is released into an electrolytic solution of the battery, and as a result, it is possible to prevent the battery from being ignited or exploded even though the battery is overheated. Further, the melted shell clogs pores of the porous separator to block lithium ions from moving, such that the battery is blocked from being driven, thereby preventing the battery from being overheated any more.

Provided are a method of manufacturing an all-solid battery and an all-solid battery manufactured by the same for efficiently insulating an edge portion of the all-solid battery. Particularly, the all-solid batter may include a hybrid current collector comprising a porous metal current collector at the edge portions thereof, and a cathode layer or an anode layer may be further fabricated by coating a cathode active material or an anode active material on the hybrid current collector. Therefore, a short-circuit of the edge portion that may occur due to the detachment of the electrode material at the edge portion of the electrode may be prevented and a use rate and energy density of the edge portion electrode may be improved.
