A display device includes a display panel, a power supply a current measurer, a controller, and a sensor. The display panel includes pixels connected between first and second power lines. The power supply applies power voltages to the first and second power lines. The current measurer measures a current applied to the display panel from the power supply through the first and second power lines. The controller outputs a first sensing control signal indicating whether to sense a voltage-current characteristic of the light emitting element of at least one of the pixels based on a measured current. The sensor senses the voltage-current characteristic of the light emitting element in response to the first sensing control signal.

A display device includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels and partitioned into a plurality of blocks including at least one of the pixels, a timing controller configured to receive input image data from an outside source and generate scaled image data by scaling the input image data using a scale factor, a data driver configured to generate a data signal corresponding to the scaled image data and supply the data signal to the pixels, and a logic circuit configured to generate the scale factor based on the input image data, first weight data, and second weight data different from the first weight data.

A display device of the disclosure includes a grayscale converter which converts input grayscales into output grayscales based on a scale factor, a data driver which converts the output grayscales into data voltages, a plurality of pixels which receives the data voltages and displays an image based on the data voltages, and a current sensor which provides a sensing current by sensing a first power current supplied to the plurality of pixels to display the image. When a load corresponding to the input grayscales is greater than a minimum load, the grayscale converter adjusts a change amount of the scale factor based on a current difference between a target current corresponding to the load and the sensing current.

A display device includes a sensor, a timing controller, and a data driver. The sensor senses characteristic values of an element included in a pixel of the display device using input initialization and data voltages in a sensing period of one frame period. The timing controller calculates compensation data voltage using the characteristic values, and calculate adjusted initialization and data voltages in the sensing period by using the compensation data voltage. The data driver output the adjusted initialization and data voltages to the pixel during the sensing period in response to a control signal output from the timing controller.

A display device for performing a sensing operation according to an embodiment of the present inventive concept includes a pixel unit including pixel circuits each including a light emitting element, a driving transistor, a switching transistor, and a sensing control transistor connected between an anode electrode and an initialization power source; a scan driver connected to the pixel circuits through horizontal lines and sequentially outputting scan signals and sensing control signals; and a sensing unit configured to sense voltages or current of first nodes each disposed between an anode electrode and a driving transistor. A display device includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels, a display panel driver, and a zone compensating circuit which divides the display panel into a plurality of unit blocks, obtains load values of input image data for the unit blocks, and generates corrected image data by correcting the input image data based on the load values. Each of the load values corresponds to one of the unit blocks. The display panel driver generates a data signal for displaying an image on the display panel based on the corrected image data. When grayscale values included in the input image data are the same, a luminance of the image displayed on the display panel is decreased moving away from a center of a reference block having a largest load value among the unit blocks based on the corrected image data.
