A method for controlling a mild hybrid vehicle may include receiving, by a controller, navigation information; determining, by the controller, whether a road on which the mild hybrid vehicle travels is in a dangerous area based on the navigation information; and releasing, by the controller, an idle stop and go state in which fuel supply to an engine of the mild hybrid vehicle is interrupted and the engine is stopped when the mild hybrid vehicle is stopped when it is determined that the road on which the mild hybrid vehicle travels is in the dangerous area.

A first available combustion torque of the engine is determined based on a speed of the engine and the temperature of the coolant when the limiting logic is operated and a target torque of a MHSG is determined based on the target torque of the engine and the first available combustion torque of the engine. The MHSG is then operated to generate the target torque of the MHSG.

A method for controlling a mild hybrid electric vehicle includes steps of: detecting data regarding the mild hybrid electric vehicle; determining a target torque of an engine according to the detected data; determining whether knocking of the engine occurs according to the detected data; determining a retardation amount of an ignition timing when it is determined that the knocking occurs; comparing the retardation amount of the ignition timing with a value; determining a loss amount of a combustion torque of the engine according to the retardation amount of the ignition timing when the retardation amount of the ignition timing is equal to or greater than the value; determining a target torque of a mild hybrid starter & generator (MHSG) according to the target torque of the engine and the loss amount of the combustion torque of the engine; and operating the MHSG to generate the target torque of the MHSG.

A removing poison apparatus of a lambda sensor includes: a lambda sensor detecting an oxygen concentration included in an exhaust gas; and a control unit differentiating a heating temperature and a heating time to remove poison of the lambda sensor depending on a lambda signal output from the lambda sensor in an overrun condition of the engine. By heating the lambda sensor depending on the magnitude of the lambda signal output from the lambda sensor, the lambda sensor may be inhibited from being degraded by combusting the material poisoned to the electrode of the lambda sensor and the failure of the lambda sensor may be correctly determined.
