An agitator deployable in a wellbore includes a housing, a valve disposed in the housing and including a first valve body and a second valve body permitted to rotate relative to the first valve body, a first valve adapter coupled to the housing and which includes a first receptacle which receives at least a portion of the first valve body, wherein the first receptacle includes a cylindrical inner surface and an annular shoulder projecting radially inwards from the cylindrical inner surface, and a flexible valve seat positioned in the first receptacle of the first valve adapter between the first valve body and the first valve adapter, wherein the flexible valve seat has a cylindrical portion and an annular shoulder extending radially inwards from the cylindrical portion.

Downhole friction reduction systems having a flexible agitator

An agitator deployable in a wellbore includes a housing including a central axis and a central passage, a valve including a first valve body having a first contact face and a second valve body permitted to rotate relative to the first valve body and having a second contact face configured to contact the first contact face, a first valve adapter including a first receptacle which receives at least a portion of the first valve body to couple the first valve adapter to the first valve body, and a flexible valve configured to permit the first valve body to flex relative to the first valve adapter whereby an angular misalignment may form between a central axis of the first valve body and a central axis of the first valve adapter.

A friction reduction system includes a housing including a central axis and a central passage, a valve disposed in the housing and including a first valve body and a second valve body wherein the first valve body is permitted to rotate relative to the second valve body, and a mandrel coupled to the second valve body and permitted to travel axially relative to the housing, wherein a first net pressure force is applied against the mandrel that corresponds to a drilling fluid pressure of a drilling fluid in response to flowing the drilling fluid through the valve and transitioning the valve from a closed configuration to an open configuration, and wherein a second net pressure force is applied against the mandrel that corresponds to a wellbore fluid pressure in response to flowing the drilling fluid through the valve and transitioning the valve from the open configuration to the closed configuration.

Downhole friction reduction systems

A coring assembly comprises an outer barrel coupled to a coring bit. An inner barrel is disposed within the outer barrel. An inner sleeve is disposed within the inner barrel and includes at least one frangible region that allows the inner sleeve to break so that coring operations can continue after the occurrence of a core jam.

Frangible core barrel

A coring extender for a coring tool is provided. The coring tool is deployable by a downhole tool into a wellbore. The coring extender includes a housing operatively connectable to the downhole tool, a mandrel, and seals. The housing has fluid chambers therein. The mandrel is positionable in the housing, and includes a locking tube operatively connectable to the housing and a coupling tube operatively connectable to the coring tool. The coupling tube is adjustably positionable relative to the locking tube such that a length of the mandrel is adjustably defined therebetween. The coupling tube has an outer surface slidably positionable along an inner surface of the housing. Seals are positionable between the mandrel and the housing to define a fluid pocket to isolate the fluid therebetween as the coupling tube moves along the housing whereby the fluid permitted to flow about the fluid pocket to balance between the fluid chambers.

Adjustable coring assembly and method of using same

A downhole activation assembly for activating a downhole component of a downhole tool positionable in a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation. The activation assembly includes a housing operatively connectable to the downhole tool, a spring-loaded sleeve, and a ball catcher. The sleeve slidably positionable in the housing, and having a flow channel therethrough and an outer surface defining a chamber between the sleeve and the housing. The sleeve having inlets therethrough about a sleeve end thereof to permit fluid from the flow channel to pass therethrough. The ball catcher slidably positionable in the housing, and having a catcher end engageable with the sleeve end to selectively divert the fluid thereabout and a ball seat therein to receivingly engage a ball passing through the sleeve whereby the ball catcher selectively moves the downhole component between activation positions.
