Aspects of the present application provide methods and devices in a communication network that aid in implementing sounding reference signal (SRS) measurement by multiple cells (i.e. serving cells and non-serving cells, also known as 'neighbor cells') as well as NR LMUs. This enhanced SRS measurement based on multiple cell and/or NR LMU measurements may facilitate more beneficial usages such as UL-based positioning and UL-based mobility.

Sounding reference signal for uplink-based multi-cell measurement

Methods and apparatuses are described for configuring a downlink (DL) reference signal (RS) for an electronic device (ED). Configuration information associated with the DL RS is received in a first communication from a location management function (LMF) via LTE positioning protocol (LPP). In a communication from a serving cell via radio resource control (RRC), an identifier (ID) of the DL RS and a cell ID of a cell that originates the DL RS are received. The configuration information received in the first communication also includes the ID of the DL RS and the cell ID. A sounding reference signal (SRS) is transmitted to the cell identified by the cell ID, according to path loss (PL) information or spatial domain transmission filter (TF) information associated with the DL RS.

Methods and apparatuses for configuration of sounding reference signal for serving and neighboring cell measurements

Embodiments of the present invention provide a reference signal notification method, including: sending, by a network device, a reference signal notification message, where the reference signal notification message includes time resource information of a reference signal. According to the embodiments of the present invention, the reference signal notification message in the present invention is used to notify UE of a reference signal configuration, especially information about a CSI-RS, so that the network device can flexibly provide a reference signal, especially a CSI-RS, and the UE can more effectively receive the reference signal, especially the CSI-RS.

Methods and apparatus are provided that may simplify and enhance the location of nodes in a network, including ED and mobile TPs, even if all or many of the nodes are mobile. The methods may be used to enable single TP positioning, and may be used to reduce synchronization error. The provided methods make use of smart reflectors having known location. By processing a combination of signals, which may include an original transmitted signal, and/or one or more reflected signals, the location of a receiving node can be determined. Media tagging may be employed to allow a receiver to detect the identity of the nearby reflectors (with known locations) and based on the identity determine the locations of the reflectors. Using this information, the receiving node can detect its location regardless of knowing the transmission source and/or location.

Systems and methods for locating user equipment in a wireless network

Methods and devices for sounding reference signal (SRS) carrier aggregation are provided. A target device is configured with N (N≥2) SRSs that include a reference SRS and N−1 target SRS. Lower layer signaling, such as a MAC-CE or a DCI message, is used to activate the N−1 target SRS, such that each of the N SRSs is transmitted on a respective carrier component from a common antenna port. The lower level signaling used to activate the target SRS may identify configuration parameters of the target SRS that are to be overridden by the corresponding configuration parameters of the reference SRS. Embodiments of the present disclosure increase the effective SRS bandwidth, which may improve positioning measurement accuracy, while also reducing the higher-layer configuration signaling by activating target SRS in lower layer signaling and overriding some configuration parameters of the target SRS by the corresponding configuration parameters of the reference SRS.

Example reference signal notification methods and apparatus are described. One example method includes sending a reference signal notification message by a network device, where the reference signal notification message includes time resource information of a reference signal. According to the embodiments of the present specification, the reference signal notification message is used to notify user equipment (UE) of a reference signal configuration, especially information about a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS).

A signal transmission method and an apparatus. The method includes: a location management device receives first SRS resource configuration information from a serving cell and/or a neighboring cell. The location management device sends second SRS resource configuration information to a terminal device, where the second SRS resource configuration information includes third SRS resource configuration information and a downlink reference signal associated with an SRS resource indicated by the third SRS resource configuration information, and the third SRS resource configuration information is a part or all of the first SRS resource configuration information. The location management device configures the SRS resource for the terminal device, so that the SRS resource can be associated with the downlink reference signal. This helps the terminal device obtain information about a transmission beam for sending an SRS, and therefore SRS receiving efficiency of the cell can be improved to some extent.

Some embodiments of the present disclosure provide for configuring channel access mechanisms in a mmWave shared spectrum mobile communication network. The channel access mechanisms are to be used by a user equipment (UE) and a serving node in the UE's serving cell. The configuring may use a single, cell-specific higher layer parameter or a combination of two cell-specific higher layer parameters. The parameters may configure the UE and the node to perform channel sensing before transmitting to initiate a channel occupancy. Alternatively, the UE and the node may be configured to transmit directly without channel sensing. The parameters may configure a receiver (the UE or the node) to perform channel sensing before transmitting a channel idle indication to the transmitter as part of a channel access procedure to initiate a channel occupancy. Alternatively, the parameters may configure the UE and the node to receive without channel sensing.

In this example, the method includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE), a control format including a resource allocation field from a base station (BS), the resource allocation field indicating a starting resource block (RB) index and an RB range, obtaining a set of RBs allocated for a multicast physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) or physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) based on a starting RB location and the RB range; wherein the starting RB location is associated with the starting RB index and at least one of a reference RB location or an assigned sub-band; and transmitting or receiving, by the UE, data over at least one RB of the set of RBs allocated for the multicast PDSCH or PUSCH.

In this example, the method includes receiving, by a UE, a message from a network device, where the message indicates both that a first reference signal is to be transmitted over a first resource and that a second reference signal is to be transmitted over a second resource.
