Systems, apparatuses and methods may provide for technology that initializes a host-managed device memory (HDM) as a temporary proxy for a system memory, wherein the HDM is associated with an accelerator. The technology also creates a shadow copy of boot firmware code in the HDM and executes one or more boot instructions in the shadow copy of the boot firmware code. In one example, the one or more boot instructions are to be one or more of executed before an initialization of the system memory or executed in parallel with the initialization of the system memory.

First boot with one memory channel

The present application is directed to access isolation for multi-operating system devices. In general, a device may be configured using firmware to accommodate more than one operating system (OS) operating concurrently on the device or to transition from one OS to another. An access isolation module (AIM) in the firmware may determine a device equipment configuration and may partition the equipment for use by multiple operating systems. The AIM may disable OS-based equipment sensing and may allocate at least a portion of the equipment to each OS using customized tables. When transitioning between operating systems, the AIM may help to ensure that information from one OS is not accessible to others. For example, the AIM may detect when a foreground OS is to be replaced by a background OS, and may protect (e.g., lockout or encrypt) the files of the foreground OS prior to the background OS becoming active.

Access isolation for multi-operating system devices

An embodiment includes determining a first power metric (e.g., memory module temperature) corresponding to a group of computing nodes that includes first and second computing nodes; and distributing a computing task to a third computing node (e.g., load balancing) in response to the determined first power metric; wherein the third computing node is located remotely from the first and second computing nodes. The first power metric may be specific to the group of computing nodes and is not specific to either of the first and second computing nodes. Such an embodiment may leverage knowledge of computing node group behavior, such as power consumption, to more efficiently manage power consumption in computing node groups. This 'power tuning' may rely on data taken at the 'silicon level' (e.g., an individual computing node such as a server) and/or a large group level (e.g., data center). Other embodiments are described herein.

Power optimization for distributed computing system

A system, device, and method for facilitating wireless communications during a pre-boot phase of a computing device includes establishing a communications interface between a unified extensible firmware interface executed on the computing device and a wireless transceiver of the computing device during a pre-boot phase of the computing device. An OOB processor of the computing device processes data communications between the unified extensible firmware interface and the wireless communication circuit during the pre-boot phase by reformatting the data communications between wired and wireless communication standards.
