One embodiment provides a method, the method including: receiving, at a device validation system and utilizing a wireless communication mechanism, current state information identifying a current configuration of a device; obtaining, using the device validation system and from a data store including trusted state information for a plurality of devices, trusted state information for the device that identifies a trusted configuration of the device; identifying, using the device validation system, a modification state of the device by comparing the current state information to the trusted state information of the device; and providing, at an output component of the device validation system, a notification indicating whether the device has been modified from the trusted state information based upon the identified modification state of the device. For generating a diagnosis, a method irradiates a product surface of a product with infrared light, the product surface including a stress sensitive pigment. The method detects an activation of the stress sensitive pigment as a color change at an infrared visible activation location. The method generates a diagnosis based on the activation.

In one aspect, a device includes at least one processor and storage accessible to the at least one processor. The storage includes instructions executable by the at least one processor to execute a basic input/output system (BIOS) to apply voltage to muscle wire within the device (and/or apply heat to memory wire within the device). The wire locks a component of the device in place without voltage (or heat) being applied to the wire so that, responsive to the BIOS influencing the wire, the wire unlocks the component for removal from the device.

Apparatuses, methods, systems, and program products are disclosed for projecting interfaces on a surface. An apparatus includes a processor and a memory that stores code executable by the processor. The code is executable by the processor to scan a surface around a display device connected to an electronic device, determine a usable area of the scanned surface for projecting at least one graphical interface of the electronic device, and project the determined at least one graphical interface on the usable area of the scanned surface using at least one projector.

In one aspect, an embedded controller (EC) in a device may receive a firmware update for another component in the device and determine whether the firmware update has been previously applied at the component. If the firmware update has not been previously applied, the EC may assign an identifier to the firmware update and digitally sign the identifier. The EC may then provide the firmware update and the digitally-signed identifier to the component so that the component may apply the firmware update.

Systems and methods are disclosed for generating a key based on at least one hardware component identifier for hardware of a first device and/or at least one piece of firmware code of the first device. The key may then be stored at a storage area accessible to the first device via hypertext transfer protocol secure (HTTPS) communication and the key may also be used to encrypt storage of the first device. Booting of the first device may then be facilitated based on HTTPS communication with a second device and using an extensible firmware interface (EFI) file and/or an IMG file stored at the second device. Then subsequent to at least partially facilitating the booting of the first device and based on verifying authentication credentials, the key may be transmitted to the first device to decrypt the storage of the first device.

Apparatuses, methods, systems, and program products securely present content on a display. An apparatus includes a processor and a memory that stores code executable by the processor. The code is executable by the processor to logically divide content to be presented on a display into a plurality of portions and randomly determine security display settings for each of the plurality of portions such that the plurality of portions are presented on the display with their respective security display settings at a frequency above a threshold of human persistence of vision but below camera shutter speeds. The code is executable by the processor to encode the randomly determined security display settings in metadata for each of the plurality of portions prior to the content being presented on the display and send the content, including the encoded security display settings, to the display.

Apparatuses, methods, systems, and computer program products are disclosed for controlling projection based on viewing context. An apparatus, in one embodiment, includes a processor and a memory that stores code executable by the processor to determine whether a predetermined condition is satisfied for projecting audiovisual content to a user in a selected viewing context. The apparatus may include sensors that communicates to the processor, parameters of the field of view of the user for the selected viewing context and characteristics of a target viewing surface within the field of view. The apparatus, further includes at least one steerable projector this is controlled, based on the one or more parameters, to project a video portion of the audiovisual content on to the target viewing surface, in response to the processor determining that the predetermined condition is satisfied. Systems, computer program products, and methods may perform the functions of the apparatus.
