A foot attachment for a pneumatic rotary tool is configured to be attached to a nose portion of the housing of the tool. The rotary tool includes a housing that defines an air flow channel. A nose portion of the housing defines an air flow inlet for the air flow channel. The foot attachment includes a shroud portion that extends from the nose portion of the housing and surrounds a working space in front of the nose portion of the housing. The shroud portion defines at least one tangential opening that directs air flow into the shroud portion along a tangent such that a vortex is generated within the working space.

A dust collection attachment system for use with a power tool having an elongated housing with a nose portion including a rotary output shaft. The nose portion is configured to have an accessory device mounted thereon, where the system includes a flexible dust hose attachable to the accessory device for removing dust and particles from the immediate area of the accessory device. The accessory device has a dust exhaust port for connection with the hose and a hose support removably attached to a rear end portion of the power tool opposite the nose portion thereof for supporting the dust hose The support includes a releasable mounting clasp on one end for attachment to the rear end of the power tool and a hose retaining clip attached to the mounting clasp.

A saw assembly including a housing, a motor, a first bevel gear, and a second bevel gear. The motor is located in the housing and includes a motor shaft configured for rotation relative to the housing. The first bevel gear is operably connected to the motor shaft for rotation with the motor shaft. The second bevel gear is operably engaged with the first bevel gear, such that rotation of the first bevel gear causes rotation of the second bevel gear. The arbor assembly is operably connected to the second bevel gear. The arbor assembly is accessible for mounting an accessory thereto from an accessory side of the housing. The arbor assembly defines a first axis of rotation. The first bevel gear is located between the second bevel gear and the accessory side of the housing along the first axis of rotation.

Power tool

A power tool includes a linear activation switch incorporating features to prevent accidental activation. More particularly, the switch includes a switch cap that must be first rotated or pivoted before it can be linearly translated to activate the switch. The power tool includes a housing defining a guide track having a first section and an second section, offset from each other by a third section. The switch includes a switch cap having guide ribs, a first slidably disposed within the first section and a second rib one initially situated within the third section. The switch cap is pivotable about the first guide rib so that the second guide rib moves within the third section into alignment with the second section of the guide track. The switch cap can then be moved linearly with the second guide rib sliding within the second section, with this movement activating the switch.

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a power router tool having an output shaft with a mechanism for attaching a working tool for engaging a work portion for performing a work operation thereon, comprising a generally cylindrical housing having a motor therein configured to drive the output shaft during operation, the housing having a nose portion from which the output shaft extends and a rear end portion opposite the nose portion, at least one switch in the housing operatively connected to the motor for controlling the operation thereof, an adjustable and removable depth guide mounted to the nose portion of the housing, the depth guide having an axial portion that is generally parallel to the output shaft and an end portion that is generally perpendicular to the output shaft, the axial and end portions having a construction that provided minimal visual obstruction during use.

The present invention is a method and device for a hand power tool which includes a housing, a storage compartment within the housing, a wrench for manipulating a collet bit attachment structure, a portion of the wrench sized to fit within the storage compartment, a first spring extending into the storage cavity and positioned to bias the portion of the wrench against an inner wall of the storage compartment and a protuberance positioned on the housing, such that when the portion of the wrench is partially within the cavity, the protuberance causes a first misalignment between the longitudinal axis of the storage compartment and the longitudinal axis of the wrench and when the portion of the wrench is fully within the cavity, the protuberance does not cause a misalignment between the longitudinal axis of the storage compartment and the longitudinal axis of the wrench as large as the first misalignment.
