Detergent compositions, preferably tablets, comprise an improved solubility aid wherein the solubility aid contains an organic molecule, which has a first polar group and a second polar group separated from each other by less than 5 aliphatic carbon atoms. The use of the solubility aid provides detergent tablets which are both strong and durable to resist breakage during storage and transportation, but which also disintegrate rapidly upon contact with an aqueous wash solution so that the components of the tablet can provide detersive benefits during the wash process.

The invention relates to solid detergent compositions comprising an aluminosilicate builder and an anionic surfactant and comprising (n) components (i), n being at least 2, whereby the level of aluminosilicate builder in said components together is at least 5% by weight of the composition and the level of the anionic surfactant in said components together is at least 5% by weight of the composition, and whereby the degree of mixture (M) of the anionic surfactant and the aluminosilicate builder is from 0 to 0.7, as defined in the description.

Solid detergent compositions

The invention relates to detergent compositions comprising from 10-60 wt % of a surfactant system and having a maximum Residues Index of 25 and a maximum Secondary Residues Index of 15. The detergents claim provide good performance in the wash based on the quantities of detergent components in the compositions.

Solid detergent compositions containing mixtures of surfactant/builder particles

A detergent granule and tablets which comprises an anionic surfactant system which comprises an anionic sulphate surfactant and/or an anionic sulphonate surfactant and other detergent active ingredients, the granule comprising at least a first and a second particulate component and optionally a binding agent, characterised in that the ratio of anionic sulphate surfactant to anionic sulphonate surfactant in the particulate components and in the optional binding agent is less than 1:4 or more than 4:1, preferably even less than 1:5 or more than 5:1. The invention also relates to specific granules comprising restricted degree of mixing of anionic sulphonate surfactant and zeolite, anionic sulphate surfactant and carbonate salts and/or restricted degree of mixing of polymeric builder and anionic surfactant, in particular sulphate surfactants.

Solid detergent compositions comprising from 8-60 wt. % of a surfactant system and having a Grand Compatibility Index of at least 0.5, preferably at least 0.6, are claimed. The use of these detergent compositions in a washing process for soiled laundry is also claimed.
