The subject invention facilitates the efficient operation of the disassembly of the microprocessor bus by providing an apparatus and method for detecting and correcting a strobe phase inversion and predrive filtering in a 2&#xd7; source synchronous data transfer bus. Apparatus according to the subject invention detects a data strobe inversion in a source synchronous 2&#xd7; data bus and corrects for this inversion by reordering the received data as well as filtering predrive effects in real time. Specifically, this apparatus according to the subject invention monitors bus traffic in a multiprocessor environment and correctly captures all double data rate exchanges regardless of the source IC or destination IC in the system.

Method and apparatus for probing a computer bus

A facility for mounting an electronic component includes a first circuit board having of mounting apertures. A mounting element is associate with each aperture, and includes a boss defining a bore. The boss has a first surface contacting a major surface of the first circuit board, and a second surface opposite the first surface. A pin is received in the bore, and has a lower portion protruding from the first surface of the boss and into one of the apertures. The pins lower portion definves a spece to capture a portion of the first circuit board. A fastener connected to the pin may generate compression between the spece and the boss to secure the board, and a corner-shaped protrusion on the second surface may constrain the corner periphery of a second board resting on the second surface, with the fastener also securing the second board against the boss.

Printed circuit board mounting facility

A circuit for acquiring a differential signal and a single-ended signal from a differential signal bus generates a differential output strobe signal and a single-ended strobe signal. A differential amplifier, first and second single-ended amplifiers, and a logic circuit cooperate to produce a digital logic output signal that exhibits an active edge that always occurs later in time than an active edge of the differential output strobe signal.
