An apparatus usable with a well includes a gas lift valve having a check valve arrangement located between an annulus and a passageway of a tubing. The check valve arrangement is adapted to selectively allow fluid flow from the check valve arrangement from an inlet side of the check valve arrangement to an outlet side of the check valve arrangement, and is biased to prevent a leakage flow through the check valve arrangement from the outlet side to the inlet side. The check valve arrangement is defined by a valve element movable into and out of engagement with a valve seat wherein one of the valve element and the valve seat has a first sealing structure engageable with a second sealing structure on the other of the valve element and the valve seat. At least one of the first and second sealing surfaces include at least one pair of sealing members.

Compliant dart-style reverse-flow check valve

A system for deep deployment of electric submersible pumps is described. In an implementation, an electric submersible pump (ESP) power cable has a strength member that enables the ESP power cable to support itself when lowered deep into a well inside a coiled tubing. The self-supporting ESP power cable frees the coiled tubing from having to carry the weight of the ESP power cable, thereby permitting longer runs of coiled tubing to be suspended into the well. The ESP power cable and the coiled tubing can be anchored independently to a wellhead, and a computing device can monitor the weight loads on the ESP power cable and on the coiled tubing.

Deep deployment system for electric submersible pumps

A technique facilitates the pumping of fluids in a subsea environment. A pumping system is formed by combining a submersible pump with a permanent magnet motor to power the submersible pump. The pumping system is positioned in cooperation with a subsea structure to improve the fluid flow and the functionality of the system in specific applications.

Method for providing rotational power in a subsea environment

A system can include a skid, a support structure to support the skid on a sea floor, mounts connected to the skid, an electrical connector for each of the mounts to power an electric submersible pump housed by a tubular housing, fluid connectors for each of the mounts, tubular housing fluid isolation valves for each of the mounts, at least one fluid bypass that comprises a fluid bypass isolation valve, and a subsea control module for control of the tubular housing fluid isolation valves, the fluid bypass isolation valve and electricity to each of the electrical connectors. Various other devices, systems, methods, etc., are also disclosed.

Subsea pumping system with interchangeable pumping units

A technique is provided for connecting a power cable to a submersible component. A connector system is used to form the connection and comprises a plurality of individual connectors for connecting power carrying conductors to the submersible component. Each of the individual connectors is separately connectable to the submersible component which enables improved sealing with respect to the submersible component. In multi-phase power applications, individual connectors can be used for each phase.

System and method for connecting a power cable with a submersible component

A technique is provided for pumping fluid in subsea applications. A self-contained pumping module is created by mounting a pumping unit on a skid that can be lowered to a sea floor. The skid comprises a support structure designed to hold the pumping unit in a desired orientation, such as an inclined orientation with respect to a base of the skid. The self-contained nature of the pumping module facilitates deployment to a sea floor/retrieval from the sea floor to enable use of the pumping module in a variety of subsea applications with reduced complexity and cost.

Subsea pumping system

A gas lift valve that has a longitudinally extending tubular body having an inlet and an outlet, a flow path extending between the inlet and the outlet, and a flow tube located inside the body. The flow tube is translatable in the axial direction between at least a first and a second position. A venturi orifice located inside the body along the flow path. A seal part is located proximate to the outlet of the body. A flapper is connected with the body by way of a hinge part and the flapper has at least a first open position and a second closed position. The closed position is where the flapper contacts the seal thereby closing the flowpath and the second closed position is where the flapper does not contact the seal and does not close the flowpath.

Gas lift barrier valve

A technique is provided for pumping fluid in subsea applications. A self-contained pumping module is created by mounting one or more removable pumping units on a skid that can be lowered to a sea floor. Each removable pumping unit comprises an electric submersible pumping system enclosed by an outer housing. The self-contained pumping module also comprises hydraulic connectors and electrical connectors that facilitate connection with corresponding hydraulic lines and electric lines while at a subsea location.

A gas lift valve assembly includes a housing that includes a first passageway that is substantially concentric with the central passageway of a string to communicate well fluid and a second passageway that is eccentrically disposed with respect to the central passageway to communicate a second fluid to lift the well fluid. The gas lift valve assembly includes a valve that is disposed in the second passageway and includes a ball valve to regulate communication of the second fluid.

A technique is provided for pumping fluid in subsea applications, such as booster pumping applications. A self-contained pumping module has a pump and a motor mounted on a skid. The self-contained pumping module also includes electrical connections by which electrical power can be provided to the motor and hydraulic connections for connecting suitable hydraulic lines with a pump intake and a pump discharge. The self-contained nature of the pumping module enables easy deployment to a sea floor in a variety of applications.

A submersible pumping system is provided for the movement of fluids. The system utilizes a first electric submersible pumping system that cooperates with a second electric submersible pumping system. The arrangement enables increased horsepower in a space efficient package.
