An adjustable buttstock assembly for a hand carried weapons, wherein an inner stock extends from and slidably moves into an outer stock to provide the length adjustment and where a set of opposed spring loaded engagement pins, located in the end of the inner stock, extend through a set of discrete, opposed openings in the outer stock to securely hold the stocks in position one relative to the other. One of the engagement pins, engages into one of a series of discrete holes located in the lower side of the outer stock, while the other engages into one of a series of partial oval opening, opposed thereto, the series of partial oval openings located on the upper side of the outer stock separated by flat teeth, to form a rack, with each partial oval opening into an open channel running the length of the rack. Such that when the lower engagement pin is compressed into the lower opening in which it may be and the upper engagement pin then rotated out of the partial oval opening into the channel&#x2014;the inner and outer stocks are then free to move one with respect to the other to extend or compress the adjustable buttstock. Further, the inner stock is fixed to a backplate that engages with the receiver of the weapon, and provides protection for a hydraulic buffer that engages with the receiver of the weapon and extends into the inner stock.

Adjustable buttstock assembly

A trigger mechanism for an automatic weapon which has a bolt carrier recicatably mounted in a receiver and biased to slide from a recoiled position to a firing position. The mechanism has a hammer positioned alongside the bolt carrier and pivotally mounted on the receiver for reciprocating between a retracted and a striking position. Also included are a bias spring, a trigger and a catch. The trigger is rotatably mounted on the receiver while the bias spring is attached to the hammer for urging it into a striking position. The catch is connected between the trigger and the hammer for releasably holding the hammer. The catch can retract the hammer in response to rotation of the trigger. The bolt carrier has a stop for engaging the hammer and holding the bolt carrier at its recoiled position. The catch is operable to release the bolt carrier from the stop by retracting the hammer. The bolt carrier also has a shoulder positioned for engaging the catch and causing it to release the hammer as the bolt carrier arrives at the firing position.

Trigger mechanism

A firearm bolt comprises a base having a plurality of outwardly radially ending lugs. Transition surfaces between adjacent lugs are each concavely curved toward the base so that each lug has a broad base area connecting the lug to the base.
