An airbag includes a U-shaped chamber, a head-impact chamber, and an uninflatable panel. The U-shaped chamber has a first side leg, a second side leg, and a top extending from the first side leg to the second side leg. The head-impact chamber is disposed between the first side leg and the second side leg. The uninflatable panel extends from the first leg to the second leg adjacent the head-impact chamber.

Vehicle front airbag assembly with multiple chambers

An airbag assembly includes a housing and an airbag. The airbag is supported by the housing and includes a vent. The airbag assembly includes a tether supported by the housing and fixed to the vent. The airbag assembly includes a tether release operatively coupled to the tether. The airbag assembly includes a tether retractor supported by the housing and fixed to the tether.

Vehicle airbag

A dynamic energy management restraint anchor device interfaces with a child seat in a vehicle, engaging common child seat attachment clip features. A device restraint anchor is operable to dynamically extract and permit distortion of load bearing deformable member(s) in order to manage the displacement of, and load transferred through, an anchor connected to a child seat. The device may be further operable to limit or prevent restraint anchor displacement and the distortion of said deformable member(s) under quasi-static load conditions in order to meet motor vehicle static load/displacement anchorage performance requirements applicable to certain anchors. Anchor retraction capability and various interlocking configurations for securing the position of an anchor, before or after having extracted, may be incorporated relative to the energy management device interfacing with both a vehicle and a child seat. An indicator may further be provided to identify the functional state of the restraint device.

An inertial lock system for use with an anchorage system for at least one vehicle child seat, the inertial lock system. The inertial lock system includes a retainer; an anchor movably connected to the retainer; at least one energy managing component connected between the retainer and the anchor biasing the anchor in a first direction capable of managing energy transmitted between the anchor and the retainer when the anchor is displaced in the direction opposite the first direction; a retention switch component selectively engageable with the anchor to limit the movement of the anchor in the first direction; and an inertial switch selectively operable in response to a predetermined deceleration of the retainer in the first direction to selectively release the retention switch and to thereby permit the at least one energy managing device to be displaced in the first direction.
