This disclosure relates to an articulation assembly configured for backlash compensation for use with surgical devices. The articulation assembly includes an articulation lever assembly configured to reduce axial backlash. The articulation assembly further includes an articulation joint configured to reduce lateral backlash.

In aspects, a shipping wedge includes an elongate body extending along a longitudinal axis and defining a channel therethrough, and an arm disposed within a slot defined in a side wall of the elongate body. The arm includes a first end coupled to the side wall and a second end that is movable laterally with respect to the side wall. In aspects, a shipping wedge includes an elongate body extending along a longitudinal axis and defining a channel therethrough. A proximal portion of the elongate body includes a first arm extending proximally from a distal portion of the elongate body and a locking tab extending laterally into the channel of the elongate body.

The elongated pocket is dimensioned to engage the elongated outer tube of the endoscopic surgical fixation device.

A surgical device is provided and includes a handle housing, an endoscopic assembly, and a follower assembly. The endoscopic assembly extends distally from the handle housing and includes an inner tube defining a longitudinal axis. The inner tube includes a distal portion defining a pair of opposed tines. The endoscopic assembly is configured to support a plurality of anchors at least partially therein. The follower assembly is disposed at least partially within the inner tube at a location proximal of the plurality of anchors, and includes a head and a shaft. Actuation of the endoscopic surgical device causes rotation of the inner tube about the longitudinal axis relative to the handle housing, and causes distal advancement of the follower assembly relative to the inner tube.

An end effector for a suturing and grasping device includes a stationary jaw member, a suturing jaw member, and a grasping jaw member. The suturing jaw member is selectively movable relative to the stationary jaw member to drive a suturing needle between the suturing jaw member and the stationary jaw member. The grasping jaw member is selectively movable relative to the stationary jaw member to grasp tissue between the stationary jaw member and the grasping jaw member.

A handle assembly for use with a surgical instrument includes a housing defining a contact wall, a movable handle, a plunger, a linkage, and a feedback mechanism. The plunger is disposed at least partially within the housing and defines a longitudinal axis. The linkage interconnects the movable handle with the plunger such that actuation of the movable handle results in longitudinal translation of the plunger relative to the housing. The feedback mechanism is configured to provide audible feedback to a user, and includes an indicator snap wire and a track defined by a wall of the housing. The snap wire is configured to move along the track in response to longitudinal translation of the plunger. The snap wire is configured to engage the contact wall of the housing to create a sound that is audible to a user when the movable handle has been actuated a predetermined amount.

Endoscopic surgical clip applier and handle assemblies for use therewith

An assembly for joining tissue portions is provided and includes an anvil assembly and a body portion juxtaposed with respect to one another along a shaft and arranged so as to be approximated with respect to one another; and an applicator disposed between the body portion and anvil assembly and configured for retaining a wound treatment material therein. The applicator has channels arranged for dispensing the wound treatment material therefrom onto an interface between the tissue portions. A method of joining the tissue portions is also provided and includes the steps of dispensing the wound treatment material from the applicator so as to distribute wound treatment material onto an interface between a first tissue portion and a second tissue portion; and approximating the anvil assembly and the body portion to one another so that the first and second tissue portions are in contact with one another.

The end effector includes a first jaw member and a second jaw member. The housing is movable relative to the end effector. The needle is releasably coupled to the housing and movable relative to the housing between a first, insertion position and a second deployed position. The needle is adapted, when in the second, deployed position, to releasably couple to one or both of the first jaw member and the second jaw member of the end effector.
