A watersport equipment carrier configured to be mounted on a vehicle includes an elongate base having a longitudinal axis extending in an elongate direction and a plurality of support pads coupled to the base. A first pad and a second pad are spaced by a channel and configured to receive watersport equipment. A securement strap having a first end portion is coupled to the base and a locking mechanism is configured to releasably secure a second end portion of the securement strap.

A watersport equipment carrier configured to be mounted on a vehicle includes an elongate base having an upper surface configured to receive watersport equipment and a locking portion. A securement strap having an anchor end and a free end and the anchor end is coupled to the base at an anchoring point. A locking mechanism is coupled to the locking portion of the base and configured to secure the free end of the strap to the base such that the free end of the strap passes through the locking mechanism in a locked configuration.

An insert bar assembly for a hitch-rack carrier comprises a self-locating securement pin. The insert bar assembly can comprise an elongate hitch-attachment bar which in turn comprises a hitch-receiver insert portion located at an insertable end of the bar. The assembly can include a flexible securement pin or a rigid securement pin resiliently joined to the bar at a fixed distance from the engagement end of the pin. The assembly accommodates repetitive, same location positioning of the engagement end of the pin at a pin-tip facing surface on the bar in the pin-secured configuration of the insert bar assembly.

A shock absorbing cradle for supporting a bicycle on an arm of a bicycle carrier. The cradle includes an arm receiving base having a bicycle carrier arm engaging surface and a floating carriage releasably coupled to the arm receiving base. The floating carriage includes an upper portion having a bicycle engaging surface and a resilient member disposed between the upper portion and the arm receiving base.

Shock absorbing securement device

A lockable carrier mount including a main body, an actuating mechanism and interference locking member, and a securement member. The actuating mechanism is configurable between locked and released configurations. The actuating mechanism includes rotatable actuator having a blocking portion with at least one protrusion extending radially further from a rotational axis of the actuator than other parts of the blocking portion. The interference locking member is coupled to the main body and has an engagement surface for selectively engaging the blocking portion. The engagement surface can abut the protrusion in the locked configuration to prevent rotation of the actuator relative to the locking member. The securement member is operably coupled to the actuating mechanism and configured to move toward a secured configuration when the actuator is rotated in one direction and move toward a released configuration when the actuator is rotated in an opposite direction.

Carrier mount

An angled adapter configured for engagement between a carrier-mounted bicycle cradle and a bicycle anti-sway device. The adapter includes an adapter body. The adapter body has a cradle engagement portion at a top end thereof and an anti-sway engagement portion at a bottom end thereof. The adapter body also includes an angled extension portion interconnected between the cradle engagement portion and the anti-sway engagement portion.

A surfboard carrier for securing one or more surfing devices for transport upon a carrying vehicle and including an elongate base having a sliding base slidingly coupled to the main base and having a locking portion. A displacement hinge having a first end and a second end can be coupled to the elongate base at the first end of the displacement hinge. A middle arm can be coupled to the second end of the displacement hinge. A strap having a first end and a second end can have the first end of the strap coupled to the bottom displacement. A lock coupled to the locking portion can be configured to lock the strap to the locking portion in the event the second end of the strap is inserted into the locking portion of the sliding base.

Variably configurable board carrier

Shock absorbing securement devices can anchor a bicycle frame tube to a bicycle carrier. The securement device includes a bicycle carrier engaging surface. The securement device also includes a bicycle frame tube engaging surface positioned at a distance away from the carrier engaging surface in a bicycle transporting orientation. The securement device includes a resilient force-responsive contraction/expansion mechanism biased toward an expanded configuration and coupled between the bicycle frame tube engaging surface and the bicycle carrier engaging surface whereby travel of the bicycle frame tube engaging surface relative to the bicycle carrier engaging surface is accommodated.

Flexible straps for a carrier include a strap body having a top, bottom, two lateral and two end surfaces. The strap body has a lengthwise axis, a widthwise axis and a thickness axis. At least one aperture can extend through the strap body from the top to the bottom surface and can be space apart from each other along the lengthwise axis by a spacer portion. The flexible strap includes a spacer cross-sectional area defined by an area of a cross-section of the spacer portion cut by a plane oriented orthogonally to the lengthwise axis. The flexible strap includes an aperture cross-sectional area defined by an area of a cross-section taken at a widthwise widest point of at least one of the apertures cut by a plane oriented orthogonally to the lengthwise axis. The aperture cross-sectional area is greater than at least two-thirds of the spacer cross-sectional area.

Adapter assembly includes expandable adapter mountable upon hitch-attachment bar that is square in cross-sectional shape and sized for insertion into first tubular hitch receiver and further includes an expander that diagonally extends and retracts relative to attachment bar. Adapter is configured to substantially house a hitch-receiver insert portion of the bar in a collapsed configuration. Adapter comprises a main body having an interior space defined by at least two substantially perpendicular interior walls positioned adjacent to two exterior walls of the hitch-receiver insert portion, the walls being expandable to attach the insert bar to a hitch.
