A trolley includes a weighing balance mounted on the trolley and configured to weigh at least one item placed on the weighing balance; a display; a communication module configured to receive order data indicative of an order including one or more items, wherein at least one of the items is defined by weight; a memory configured to store the order data; a processor configured to: control the display to output an indication of at least some of the one or more items, determine a weight of one of the items defined by weight placed on the weighing balance, and control the display to output the determined weight of the at least one item from the weighing balance on the display.

Weighing apparatus and method

A control module of a label printing apparatus includes memory configured to store item data and shelf label data indicative of an ID of an electronic shelf label (ESL) for the item, and at least one communication module configured to: receive, from an external device, an update request to make at least one change to the item data and communicate an ESL update request to the ESL to make the at least one change at the ESL. A processor of the control module is configured to: update the item data stored in the memory according to the update request; determine if the ESL has been updated in dependence on whether an acknowledgement is received from the ESL; and if the ESL has not been updated, control the communication module to output an alert signal to indicate that the ESL is out of sync with the label printing apparatus.

Label printing apparatus

A control module for a labelling apparatus, including: an input configured to receive a label generation request indicating a food item to be labelled; an output configured to provide a print signal to a label printing device; and a processor configured to: identify a set of ingredients of the indicated food item in response to receipt of the label generation request; and verify that the identified set of ingredients of the food item is a most recent set of ingredients of the food item. If the identified set of ingredients of the food item is verified as the most recent, the print signal is output to cause the label printing device to print an information label indicating the set of ingredients of the food item. If the identified set of ingredients cannot be verified as the most recent set of ingredients, provision of the print signal is prevented.

Labelling apparatus control

A control system for controlling the quantities of items of a product includes: a) a weighing scale; b) a memory storage device storing data of a target associated to the weight of at least one item; and c) a processor in communication with the weighing scale and the memory storage device. The processor is configured to output a sensory indicator corresponding to the weight of at least one of the items placed on the weighing scale. The sensory indicator provides a different sensory indication when the weight of at least one of item placed on the weighing scale is above, below or between the target.

Weighing balance

A label cutter including a blade having a curved cutting edge configured and arranged to move towards a platen in order to cut a label material placed between them. The label cutter has a force applicator arranged and configured to apply a force to a portion of the blade in the direction of the platen. The label cutter includes an actuator operatively coupled to the force applicator and operable to cause the force applicator to move. The force applicator is moveable in order to, in use, apply a force to consecutive portions of the blade in the direction of the platen so as to provide a rolling engagement between the blade and the platen. A label issuing device including a label cutter is also provided.

Label cutter

A secure storage system for multi-user access having a plurality of lockable storage spaces, and a method for granting or denying access to the plurality of lockable storage spaces. A first subset of the lockable storage spaces is allocated to a first user and a second subset of the lockable storage spaces is allocated to a second user. A first access sequence of lockable storage spaces within the first subset is determined for the first user, and a second access sequence of lockable storage spaces within the second subset is determined for the second user in dependence on a likelihood of an access conflict with the first user. At least one delay period for at least one of the first access sequence and the second access sequence is determined if the likelihood of the access conflict remains above a predetermined threshold.

A cassette device is arranged to be removably mounted to or inserted into a printing device of a weighing scale housing a print-head mechanism and a drive roller. The cassette device includes a feed hub and a take-up hub rotatably mounted to a wall for cooperating with the drive roller. The wall forms a part of or closure for the weighing scale housing. Label roll end sensing, backing paper tension control, print head movement and pressure adjustment, and label feed/print line alignment arrangements are also described.
