A database management system maintains a collection of data using a log-based storage structure. In response to a request to store data items (key-value pairs), the database management system stores mapping information to a data item in an in-memory data structure while the data items are stored on the log-based storage structure. The hash of the key includes information to identify an index entry that comprises information that maps to the location of the data item stored on the log-based storage structure.

Database with in-memory data stores

An extendable augmented reality (AR) system for recognizing objects. The AR system may incorporate plugins to improve the AR system's ability to recognize objects, such as by adding external matchable data or using external recognition algorithms. The plugins may be installed/activated dynamically by a user to expand the system's AR capabilities. The AR system may also incorporate plugins to improve the AR system's post-recognition features such as supplying a user with supplemental content or follow-up functionality. The AR system may filter communications with the plugins to centralize identification processes, to shield plugins, and to ensure plugins are only activated at appropriate times.

Extendable architecture for augmented reality system

Data within a database partition that is being migrated may be made available for access. Data within a database partition may be selected for migration. Writes to the selected data may be prevented while the data is being migrated. Writes to other data, or read access any of the partition, may be allowed during the migration of the selected data. Rollback events may be detected for a database partition that is being migrated, halting the further selection of data for migration and deleting the successfully migrated data at the copy of the database partition being created.
