An apparatus that forms bundles of glass articles includes a glass article infeed station including an infeed conveyor that continuously transports individual glass articles to a layer separating conveyor. The layer separating conveyor includes a conveyor belt that forms a layer of side-by-side glass articles. A robotic lift assembly is configured to place the layer of side-by-side glass articles together on a layer separation insert. The layer separation insert has side-by-side slots that each receive a single glass article of the layer of side-by-side glass articles.

Automated glass article bundling and palletizing apparatuses and methods

Disclosed herein are systems and methods for ion exchanging glass articles. Methods for ion exchanging glass articles include receiving processing instructions from one or more user input devices, loading a cassette containing a plurality of glass articles into a molten salt bath of one or more ion exchange stations automatically with a robotic lift based on the processing instructions, removing the cassette from the molten salt bath automatically with the robotic lift after a predetermined time based on the processing instructions, and rotating the cassette automatically to drain fluid of the molten salt bath from the cassette.

Systems and methods for ion exchanging glass articles

According to embodiments disclosed herein, an apparatus may hold and retain glass articles during processing. The apparatus may define a plurality of receiving volumes for holding glass articles. The apparatus may include a bottom support floor, a glassware-securing member positioned above the bottom support floor, and a cover plate positioned above the glassware-securing member. The bottom support floor may include a plurality of fluid passages, the glassware-securing member may include a plurality of glassware-retaining openings, and the cover plate may include a plurality of fluid passages. Methods for the use of such apparatuses are also disclosed herein.

Apparatuses and methods for holding, retaining, and/or processing glassware articles

A magazine apparatus may hold and retain glass articles. The magazine apparatus may comprise a base frame, a back plate, and a plurality of receiving racks. The base frame may define a front plane and a back plane. The back plate may be connected to the base frame and positioned in the back plane defined by the base frame. The plurality of receiving racks may be supported in the base frame between the front plane and the back plane. Each receiving rack may be parallel to and spaced apart from adjacent receiving racks in a vertical direction and comprise a plurality of receiving slots for receiving at least a portion of a glass article. The receiving slots may be arrayed in a linear array over a length of each receiving rack and open towards the front plane of the base frame.
