A buttressed hinge assembly or a flexible hinge assembly adjusts to fit a vent on a wall or a roof in order to hold a fan thereon, which fan is especially suitable for a restaurant roof or wall. The hinge assembly attaches to a roof or wall vent to hold the fan in a proper position, yet permits the fan to be easily moved for cleaning of vent and the fan.

Hinge assembly for supporting a fan on a roof

An access panel for an opening in a duct is provided. The access panel includes an exterior and an interior. The access panel further includes a section positioned on the interior and having a profile substantially corresponding to the opening in the duct. A plurality of fasteners is positioned about the section. Each fastener has a dip configured to move to a position defined to extend away from the profile of the section on the interior. When the access panel is positioned with the section on the interior against the opening in the duct and the fasteners are moved to the locking position the clips rotate to extend over the profile and secure a portion of the duct adjacent to the opening against the interior of the access panel.

A grease containment assembly to collect grease discharged from a grease exhaust system that has an exhaust duct extending upwardly from a roof top and interconnected to a fan base that connects to an exhaust fan. The grease containment includes a plurality of interconnecting channels positioned around the exhaust duct to form a frame surrounding the exhaust duct. The channels further include a water channel running along the bottom portion defined therein. A sorbent material is further received within the interconnecting channels, having properties that absorbs grease and repels water. A plurality of egresses positioned in the interconnecting channels permit water running along the water channels to drain out of the interconnecting channels.

Grease containment assembly

In accordance with the present invention a receptacle for the collection of fluids is provided. The receptacle includes a frame with an opening defined between a pair of sidewalls and the front and rear walls supported by the frame. The receptacle also includes a lower grate, a sorbent pad and an upper grate, all of which is received in the basin of the frame. The sorbent pad sandwiched between the upper and lower grate is prevented from moving and kept substantially flat, such that the sorbent pad may cover the entire opening. The front and rear walls further include tapered sections to secure the receptacle to the ground. In addition, the upper grate may also be hinged to the frame, providing an easier means to access the sorbent pad for periodic maintenance purposes. The preferred sorbent pad has properties that absorb various petroleum-based fluids while at the same time allowing water-based fluids to drain or seep through. The water may thereafter drain out of the frame through drain holes provided along the sidewalls or through the opening.

Receptacle for the collection of fluids

A grease containment assembly to collect grease discharged from a grease exhaust system that has an exhaust duct extending upwardly from a roof top and interconnected to a fan base that connects to an exhaust fan. The grease containment includes a plurality of interconnecting U-shaped channels positioned around the exhaust duct to form a frame surrounding said exhaust duct. A sorbent material is further received within the interconnecting channels, having properties that absorbs grease and repels water. A plurality of holes is positioned in the interconnecting channels such that the water repelled by the sorbent material may drain out of the interconnecting channels. In addition the frame is further secured to the exhaust duct.
