Systems and methods are provided remotely controlling a medical device. In some embodiments, systems and methods are also provided for remote medical monitoring. This includes, for example, emergency/panic notifications/functions, medical event recording, compliance monitoring, sleep timer and environmental controls, two-way communication, and other functions such as, for example, emergency telephony/communication in various forms. In other embodiments, systems and methods for managing a remote control of a medical device are provided. This includes, for example, two-way communication for assisting in locating the remote, power management including sleep mode and wireless charging, and master remote/key functionality. The remote can be handheld or wearable and may include, for example, audio, visual, haptic, input, communication, and sensor (including biosensor) functionality and outputs. In this manner, the remote control can not only control the medical device, but also provides the user with extended functionality for emergency and non-emergency communication and tasks.

System and method for medical device communication

Embodiments of gas concentrating systems and methods are provided. In one embodiment, the system includes, for example, a plurality of modules connectable and disconnectable from each other to thereby adjust the (gas) capacity and modality of the connected system. In this manner, a user need not maintain one system for on the go (ambulatory) scenarios and a wholly second system for stationary (e.g., at home) scenarios. The systems and methods further provide the ability to gradually upgrade the system capacity consistent with the user's lifestyle and medical needs.

System and method for concentrating gas

Systems and methods are provided for displaying status of a gas concentrator. The systems and methods include, for example, a display having a plurality of illuminable segments. The illuminable segments can be illuminated to form one or more displays indicating system status. The system status includes, for example, warmup, normal operation, low priority alarm(s), high-priority alarms, etc. In one embodiment, the systems and methods also read oxygen values of the gas concentrating system as one basis for determining system status. Other bases are also disclosed.
