A camshaft phaser arrangement configured for a concentric camshaft assembly having an inner camshaft and an outer camshaft is provided. The camshaft phaser arrangement can facilitate independent phasing of intake and exhaust valves. The camshaft phaser arrangement includes a first driven wheel and a second driven wheel, both configured to be driven by a driving wheel. A first camshaft phaser is connected to the first driven wheel and configured to be connected to either the inner or outer camshaft. A second camshaft phaser is connected to the second driven wheel and configured to be connected to either the inner or outer camshaft which is not connected to the first driven wheel. A motion transfer assembly can connect the second camshaft phaser to the concentric camshaft assembly. One or both of the camshaft phasers can be an electric camshaft phaser or a hydraulic camshaft phaser.

An oil reservoir for a variable camshaft phaser, comprising a locking cover including a front surface including a pool, the pool having a plurality of through-bores, a rear surface including a locking pin channel, a radially inward facing surface, and a radially outward facing surface, and an oil reservoir cover secured to the front surface of the locking cover.

A camshaft phaser, including: an inner rotor with radially outwardly extending vanes which is connected to the inner camshaft; a stator having radially inwardly directed projections which contact the outer surface of the rotor and form working spaces into which the vanes extend, the vanes divide the working spaces into first and second sets of pressure chambers which can be pressurized with a hydraulic medium in order to rotate the rotor in an advancing or retarding direction; a front cover connected to a front side of the assembly defining a front side of the pressure chambers; and a rear cover connected to the rear side of the assembly defining a rear side of the pressure chambers, having first and second protrusions directed toward and meshed with complementary first and second indentations on an outer camshaft.

Camshaft phaser

A switching roller finger follower, including: first and second rotatable outer arms; and a locking mechanism including a locking pin with a first outside diameter and first and second ends. The locking mechanism includes first and second locking sleeves: separate from the locking pin; fixedly secured to the first and second ends, respectively; and having second and third outside diameters, respectively, larger than the first outside diameter. The locking pin is displaceable such that: in a locked mode, the first and second locking sleeves contact the first and second outer arms, respectively, to block rotation of the first and second outer arms in a first rotational direction; and in an unlocked mode, the first and second locking sleeves are free of contact with the first and second outer arms, respectively.
