An article of footwear includes an upper and an adjustable lacing system. The adjustable lacing system includes a plurality of fastener engaging elements located at the medial and lateral sides of the upper, where at least one of the medial side and the lateral side includes sets of fastener engaging elements. Each set of fastener engaging elements is distanced from another set in a direction transverse a lengthwise direction of the upper, and the fastener engaging elements are configured to engage with and retain a fastener structure that extends between the medial and lateral sides of the upper such that the fastener structure can be selectively engaged with different sets of fastener engaging elements to adjust a fit of the upper around a width of the foot disposed within the cavity.

A method of forming an upper for an article of footwear includes providing a first material layer over a shoe last, providing a second material layer over the first material layer such that the first and second material layers adhere to each other at an interface between the first and second material layers, where one or both of the first material layer and second material layer is provided by spray forming a polymer material onto the last. The material layers are removed from the last and turned inside out such that the first material layer includes an exposed surface that forms an exterior surface of the upper.

Method of forming an article of footwear

A running shoe and a flexion plate insert. An upper and an outsole together define an inner volume. A tensioning system selectively constricts the shoe. Trimmable traction formations project from the shoe outsole, and cuttable drainage plugs permit draining of water. A flexion plate exhibiting asymmetric flexion characteristics is selectively retained atop the outsole by engagement of an aperture in the flexion plate with a mounting plug retained within the shoe or by a removable first midsole. The mounting plug and the aperture have eccentric portions that are out of alignment when the flexion plate and the first midsole are aligned and that align when the first midsole and the flexion plate are disposed at a given, non-zero angle. The first midsole can be an upper midsole, and a second, lower midsole can be disposed in a facing relationship with the upper midsole with the flexion plate therebetween.

An article of footwear includes a sole structure and an upper attached to the sole structure. The upper is formed from a textile including interlocked strands oriented in a predetermined configuration. The strands include one or more inelastic strands operable to provide stretch and/or recovery properties to the upper.

In another embodiment, the microclimate modulation structure includes an uneven surface that includes a plurality of knitted beams and a plurality of indentations defined between the knitted beams.
