Systems and methods are disclosed for an enclosure providing a sealed environment. The enclosure employs movable paneling that seals an area for a laser welding cell, while allowing access for an operator to load a workpiece in and unload the workpiece from a welding cell. Barriers are arranged on the enclosure, such that in a closed configuration activation of a pneumatic tube forces the barriers to extend toward a rotated paneling, such that the edges of the enclosure contact or overlap with the edges of the paneling to result in a light-tight seal. Presence of the fluid increases the pressure in the tube such that an external boundary of the tube expands, forcing the barrier toward the edges of the paneling, thereby closing the gap and providing a light-tight enclosure.

Laser welding enclosure

The invention relates generally to welding and, more specifically, to welding wires for arc welding, such as Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) or Flux Core Arc Welding (FACW). In one embodiment, a tubular welding wire includes a sheath and a core, and the core comprises a rare earth silicide component (cerium, lanthanum, or a combination thereof). The core may also comprise an organic stabilizer component, a carbon component, and an agglomerate. The organic stabilizer component may comprise an organic molecule or organic polymer bound to one or more Group I or Group II metals. The carbon component may comprise graphite, graphene, carbon black, lamp black, carbon nanotubes, diamond, or a combination thereof. The agglomerate may comprise oxides of one or more Group I or Group II metals, titanium, and manganese.

Systems and methods for welding electrodes

Welding system

A welding method includes feeding a welding electrode axially from a welding torch, moving the welding electrode radially in a desired pattern with respect to a central axis of the welding torch by a motion control assembly within the welding torch, transmitting from control circuitry a signal corresponding to a position of the welding electrode relative to a weld joint or weld pool, advancing the welding torch or a workpiece to establish a weld, and transferring material from the welding electrode to a first location in an area of the weld pool. The welding electrode moves radially while feeding the welding electrode from the welding torch, the material from the welding electrode is transferred to the first location during a first cycle of the desired pattern, and the first location is controlled based at least in part on the signal.

Synchronized rotating arc welding method and system

A system includes a welding torch assembly configured to establish a welding arc between an electrode and workpieces separated by a narrow groove utilizing power from a power supply while moving the electrode radially in a desired pattern by a motion control assembly within the welding torch assembly. The welding torch assembly includes a nozzle through which the electrode is fed and within which the electrode is radially moved.

In one embodiment, a method of manufacturing a tubular welding wire includes disposing a core within a metallic sheath.
