A harness clip, for use on a child restraint system, which is easily slidable along the harness straps to facilitate positioning of the harness over a child's head, but which can be effectively secured into place relative to the straps when properly positioned near the child's chest. The clip generally comprises a base member for maintaining the two shoulder straps in lateral positioning relative to each other. In addition, the base member is movable relative to at least one of the shoulder straps. The clip further includes a securing device for releasably securing the base member to at least one of the two shoulder straps, to thereby inhibit relative sliding movement between the base member and at least one of the two straps. A method for securing a child in a child restraint system is also disclosed. The method generally comprises the steps of placing the child into the child restraint system, positioning the shoulder straps onto the child with the clip in a first position, moving the clip from the first position to a second position, and securing the clip to at least one of the shoulder straps to thereby substantially prevent relative movement between the clip and the shoulder strap.

Child restraint harness clip

A low temperature conduction module comprising a cold plate having recesses around the periphery thereof to accommodate memory cubes is disclosed. The recesses accommodating the memory cubes are of such depth and dimension as to enclose the memory cube on all but one side, thereby greatly enhancing the conduction of the heat generated by the memory cube to the cold plate. The memory cube may be surrounded by a material which possesses excellent thermal conductive properties to insure efficient transfer of the heat from the memory cube to the cold plate. The plurality of memory cubes so positioned within the cold plate may be connected by a flexible cable surrounding the cold plate and having branch conductors extending to connect with computer processors enclosed within the same low temperature conduction module.

An improved electronic cooling module having thermally optimized and fully integrated vertical water channels located between pistons. The water channels include directed jets matched to the piston localized performance and an inner tube locally attached to the channel hole providing parallel convective surfaces.

Cooling by use of multiple parallel convective surfaces

A thermal conduction module for cooling an array of integrated circuit chips mounted on a substrate includes a moveable piston for cooling the chips, the piston having a base, urged against an upper surface of the chips, of thermally conductive material. The base has on the lower surface thereof cups or channels between adjacent rows of the chips, and, on the upper surface thereof, parallel channels directly over the chips. The piston includes members extending downward into the upper surface channels for directing a flow of coolant into the upper surface channels and impinging the coolant on the channel bottoms. The flow directing members may be plate-like baffles or nozzles. The piston also includes passages for directing coolant from one upper surface channel to an adjacent upper surface channel in a flow direction perpendicular to the axes of the upper surface channels.

Thermal conduction module with integral impingement cooling

A cold plate and an integrated circuit cooling module embodying a cross-hatch coolant flow distribution scheme. Cross hatch flow distribution is achieved by way of two sets of channels which run perpendicular to each other. The first set of channels is formed on a base plate. The second, perpendicular set is includes a set of inlet channels and a set of interleaved outlet channels formed on a distribution plate. In the preferred embodiment, the base and distribution plates are separated by an interposer plate that has nozzles which cause a liquid coolant to impinge, under pressure, on the floor of the base plate.

Cross-hatch flow distribution and applications thereof

An otherwise conventional multi-chip circuit module called a thermal conduction module (TCM) is provided with 'barrel shaped' pistons that give improved cooling for chips that may be tilted with respect to their pistons. The piston has a cylindrical mid-section and tapered end sections. The barrel shape permits the piston to tilt with the chip even though the mid-section has the desirable close fit of conventional convex face pistons. The length of the mid-section is selected to permit the piston to tilt to the angle of the taper of the ends. Because the piston can tilt with the chip, the end that contacts the chip is flat for good heat transfer. The result is improved heat transfer by a lower combined thermal resistance of the gap between piston and chip and the gap between piston and hat versus conventional pistons.

Thermal conduction module with barrel shaped piston for improved heat

A method is provided for customizing the heat transfer from the walls of an electronic unit such as a semi-conductor chip or wafer by determining the required heat transfer characteristics of the units; drilling holes of a predetermined size and location in the walls of the unit with a high energy beam in accordance with the required heat transfer characteristics of the unit; immersing the unit in a suitable dielectric coolant so that nucleate boiling will start at approximately the desired wall temperature to obtain the required heat transfer from the unit, thereby providing a uniform wall temperature. A further aspect of the invention is the inclusion of a heater means located at or near the bottom of the heat transfer wall so that bubble generation can be started thereat, which bubbles wash the liquid from the downstream drilled holes or natural nucleation sites, thereby starting nucleate boiling when the required temperature is reached.
