Techniques for separating shareable images from non-shareable images. In various implementations, image metadata and feature analysis may be used to evaluate the 'shareability' of a photograph associated with a particular user. In some implementations, single photos may be determined to be shareable. In another implementation, an event associated with multiple photos may be determined to be shareable. In some implementations, a photo may be determined to be shareable with a single recipient. In another implementation, a photo may be determined to be shareable with multiple recipients. In yet another implementation, these techniques may be assisted by supervised machine learning. In still yet another implementation, photos determined to be shareable may be suggested to a user for sharing, or automatically shared, per an opt-in feature.

Systems and methods for inferential sharing of photos

Systems and techniques are described for facilitating sharing information. Some embodiments can receive a set of data items that is to be analyzed for sharing, analyze the set of data items based on a first set of criteria to obtain a subset of the set of data items that is a likely candidate for sharing, and present the subset of the set of data items to a first user. Additionally, some embodiments can receive a set of users that is to be analyzed for sharing information, analyze the set of users based on a second set of criteria to obtain a subset of the set of users with whom the information is likely to be shared, and present the subset of the set of users to the first user.

Sharing information with other users

A first device periodically transmits a first audio signal that encodes a first code over an audio channel that is shared between the first device and a second device, and the second device periodically transmits a second audio signal that encodes a second code over the audio channel. When the first device receives the second audio signal over the audio channel, the first device extracts the second code from the second audio signal and sends the second code to a server. When the second device receives the first audio signal over the audio channel, the second device extracts the first code from the first audio signal and sends the first code to the server. If the server receives the first code from the second device and/or the second code from the first device, the server can conclude that the first device is in proximity to the second device.

Matching devices based on information communicated over an audio channel

In one example, a method includes determining, based on motion data generated by a motion sensor of a wearable computing device, a plurality of motion vectors, wherein one or more components operatively coupled to the wearable computing device are operating in a first power mode during a first time period; determining, based on the plurality of motion vectors, a plurality of values. In this example, the method also includes, responsive to determining that each of the plurality of values satisfies a corresponding threshold, transitioning, by at least one component of the one or more components, from operating in the first power mode to operating in a second power mode.
