A woven pool cover fabric that includes a repeating geometric pattern with a plurality of first lines in a warp direction and plurality of second lines in a fill direction that cross one another to form a plurality of repeating geometric shapes. The plurality of geometric shapes being a first geometric shape and a second geometric shape that alternate across each of the first lines and second lines. The woven pool cover fabric further includes a water flow rate of about 10 gallons/minute per square foot to about 200 gallons/minute per square foot as measured by ASTM D4491 test method, and has a shade coverage of about 80% to about 99%.

The present invention is directed to a geotextile fabric including a plurality of wicking yarns each having a plurality of fibers with inter-fiber voids therebetween; wherein the inter-fiber voids of the plurality of wicking yarns has a water flow of about 0.05 milliliters per day per denier (ml/day/denier) to about 1.0 milliliters per day per denier. Further, the present invention is directed to a method of making such geotextile fabric.

Geosynthetic fabric with differential wicking capability

Described herein is an anti-capillary barrier geotextile which includes a wicking yarn in its structure and has a volumetric moisture content at breakthrough of less than 0.30 as determined by the TenCate Test. In one aspect the anti-capillary barrier geotextile is a single-layer woven geotextile and includes a wicking yarn set and, optionally, a first non-wicking yarn disposed in one axis of the geotextile; and a second non-wicking yarn disposed in another axis of the geotextile and interweaving the wicking yarn set and optional first non-wicking yarn.

A woven geosynthetic fabric having a weft direction and a warp direction, includes weft yarns woven in the weft direction and warp yarns woven in the warp direction interweaving the weft yarns to form a fabric having comparable modulus; the warp yarns including a high modulus monofilament yarn having a tenacity of at least 0.75 g/denier at 1% strain, at least 1.5 g/denier at 2% strain, and at least 3.75 g/denier at 5% strain as determined in accordance with ASTM International Standard 4595.

The present invention is directed to a monofilament, a yarn, a tape, or a staple fiber, each having 1 to 12,000 Denier per filament, a draw ratio of 2.5:1 to 25:1, and made of a polypropylene composition of a melt blended admixture of about 93% by weight of polypropylene, about 5% by weight of a polypropylene/ethylene copolymer, and about 2 wt. % of an additive. Also, a process for preparing the monofilament, yarn, tape, or staple fiber is disclosed.

Polypropylene yarn having increased Young's modulus and method of making same

A woven geosynthetic fabric is disclosed having a first weft yarn, a second weft yarn, and a stuffer pick woven in the weft direction of the fabric. A warp yarn interweaves the first and second weft yarns and the stuffer pick. The first weft yarn and the second weft yarn having different cross-sectional shapes. At least a portion of the fabric has a plurality of weft yarn sets with stuffer picks respectively disposed and woven between the weft yarn sets. Each weft yarn set has two first weft yarns and two second weft yarns. One of the two first weft yarns is adjacent one of the two second weft yarns and stacked on the other second weft yarn. The adjacent second weft yarn is stacked on the other first weft yarn.

Woven geosynthetic fabric

Described herein is woven geotextile formed of a plain six-pick weave fabric having an apparent opening size (AOS) of at least 40 as measured in accordance with ASTM International Standard D4751, a water flow rate of at least 35 gpm/ftas measured in accordance with ASTM International Standard D4491, a 12% strain at a tensile load of at least 300 lb/in as measured in accordance with ASTM International Standard D4595 in the warp direction, and a 12% strain at a tensile load of at least 270 lb/in in accordance with ASTM International D4595 at 270 lb/in in the fill direction. Also described herein is a reinforced civil structure having a subgrade formed at least partially of soil; a base course; and a woven geotextile disposed between the subgrade and the base course.

Stabilized and reinforced civil constructions and method of making same

A double layer woven fabric for use in various applications, including recreational applications such as pool covers. The fabric is formed by two layers of yarns secured together. At least one layer (and, in one embodiment, both layers) of yarns comprises at least two types of yarn of differing geometrical shapes that are preferably positioned alternately across the fabric. The yarns of one shape help to block sunlight while the yarns of the other shape help to ensure that open channels are formed through the fabric for water flow.

Double layer woven fabric

A bi-layer, woven geotextile fabric has interwoven first and second layers. The first layer is over and under woven through the second layer in a pre-determined pattern so that the first layer has portions which face a first side of the second layer and portions which face a second side of the second layer. Monofilaments in the warp direction of the first layer have a pre-determined differential heat shrinkage characteristic that is greater than the monofilaments in the warp direction of the second layer. Closed cells defined by the pattern of the over and under weave are disposed on the first and second sides of the second layer. Shrinkage of the monofilaments in the warp direction of the first layer provide for a separation of a portion of the second layer from the first layer at the cells.

The present invention is directed to a geosynthetic wicking fabric for transporting water from beneath pavement structures to reduce or prevent damaged caused by frost heave and thaw. Further, the present invention is directed to a wicking drainage system employing the wicking fabric.

A method for creating a woven fabric having a plurality of raveling-prone weave sections, each surrounded by a perimeter of raveling-resistant weave, comprises programming a desired weave pattern into a dobby to weave the raveling-prone weave sections of the fabric in a prescribed pattern and change the weave to that of the raveling-resistant weave when the desired length of those raveling-prone weave sections is reached; drawing warp ends corresponding to the raveling-prone weave sections on harness frames ( ) separate from those harness frames associated with warp ends corresponding to the raveling-resistant weave such that the warp ends of the raveling-prone weave sections can be independently raised or lowered by their associated harness frames; weaving fabric according to the prescribed pattern in the dobby; and providing raveling-resistant weave in the warp direction by independently raising and lowering warp ends associated with the raveling-resistant weave.
