An anchoring system is a combination of a nanofiber scaffold material and an arthroscopically deployable suture anchor. The anchor is deployed into a bone tunnel using common techniques. The nanofiber material extends out of the proximal end of the implant, once deployed. The implant also includes pre-loaded sutures or has the ability to accept and lock sutures to the implant. For an implant pre-loaded with suture, the implant is placed into the bone, the material is deployed above the anchor onto the surface of the bone, suture is passed through the soft tissue, and knots are tied to secure the tissue against the bone, sandwiching the material between the bone and tissue, to provide a pathway for cells from the bone marrow to the soft tissue-bone interface, promote the healing response, provide a biomimetic structure that cells readily adhere to, and create a larger healing footprint.

Systems and methods for repairing soft tissues using nanofiber material

Disclosed is a system for inserting an adapter including a docking station and an adapter inserter. The docking station can include a handle block, a push assembly, and a linkage connecting knob push handle to an engagement tube pull block. The engagement tube pull block can extend from the linkage through a portion of the handle block. The adapter inserter can include a handle body, an engagement assembly, and a clamp. The handle body can be sized to fit in a first recess defined by the handle block body. The engagement assembly can extend from a second end of the handle body and can be configured to engage the adapter at a tip of the engagement assembly. The clamp can be located within and proximate a second end of the handle body so as to engage a portion of the engagement assembly.

Adapter inserter and docking station

Disclose herein are suture anchor constructs. The suture anchor constructs can include an anchor, a first suture, and a second suture. The anchor can include a post and a body. The body can define a central hole extending from a trailing end of the body along a central axis towards a leading end of the body. The first suture can have a first tail, a second tail, and a first intermediate potion located proximate the post. The second suture can have a third tail, a fourth tail, and a second intermediate portion secured to the post. The first, second, third, and fourth, tails can pass through the central hole.

Fixed suture construct for soft tissue reconstruction

A wicking component is integrated into an arthroscopically deployable bone anchor, and is intended to improve soft tissue-to-bone repair. Once deployed, the fibrous wick component extends from within the bone tunnel, out of the hole, and to the bone-tendon interface on the bone surface. The tissue is approximated against the bone, sandwiching the wick material between the bone and tissue. The wick component is ideally a polymeric fibrous or tissue-based scaffold that provides a pathway for cells (autologous bone marrow constituents and blood) to travel from within the bone to the soft tissue-bone interface, accelerating and promoting the healing response. The system provides a biomimetic structure that stimulates the extracellular matrix to encourage cell attachment and potentially improve the healing response. The wick component does not need to be integrated into a suture anchor and installed when the suture anchor is deployed. For example, the wick component could be placed above or near a traditional suture anchor after it has been deployed.

Systems and methods for repairing soft tissues

A method of anchoring soft tissue to a suitable bone site, using a soft suture anchor, includes steps of disposing the soft suture anchor on a shaft of an inserter, and securing a proximal end of a tensioning suture limb, extending proximally from the soft suture anchor, to structure in a handle of the inserter, so that it is maintained in place at a first level of holding tension (T). The inserter shaft is inserted into a hone hole at a desired procedural site, so that the soft suture anchor is positioned at a location where it is to be anchored. A further step involves actuating a control mechanism in the inserter handle to move the structure proximally to apply a second level of deployment tension (T) to the tensioning suture limb.

All-suture suture anchor systems and methods

A self-adjusting suture construct can include a suture extending from a passive end to an active end. The passive end can include a first loop that the active end can be passed through to form a second loop. The active end can then be pulled to tighten the second loop around a portion of a patient's anatomy. The active end can be passed through an anchor and the anchor can be implanted to lock the tightened second loop.

A simple, threaded suture anchor is pre-loaded with suture in a configuration that allows a surgeon to compress tissue against the bone without tying a knot. The knot-tying step is replaced by a simple suture looping step which requires less time and is not prone to errors in knot tying technique. The suture anchor is a screw-in style anchor body. The suture is loaded into the anchor in a configuration that allows it to create a loop on top of the tissue after it has been passed through the tissue from bottom to top. The suture limbs are then loaded into a knotless anchor which is implanted off the lateral edge of the tissue. Tensioning of the suture limbs in the knotless anchor tightens the loop on top of the tissue, providing a fulcrum point of fixation over the pre-loaded suture anchor without the otherwise need for requisite knot tying.

Devices and methods for knotless material fixation

An all-suture suture anchor system includes an all-suture anchor, an inserter, and a specially designed drill. The drill is used to enlarge the hole and create a pocket under the bone surface from the pre-drilled hole. The created pocket is intended to accommodate the expansion of the anchor when deployed into the bone, generating a true mechanical interference under the bone surface. The anchor is loaded on the inserter and placed at full length vertically inside the drilled hole. While holding the inserter on top of the drilled hole, so that a feature on the inserter keeps the anchor to a desired depth below the bone surface, tension is applied to the suture limb that is connected to the bottom end of the anchor. This tensioning step causes the length of the anchor to contract vertically and the anchor is simultaneously expanded circumferentially to fill the pocket previously created by the drill. Since the pocket created by the drill is intended to contain the deployed anchor, the deployed position of the anchor is consistently predictable.

An anchoring system for securing tissue to bone includes an implant having a body through which a suture eyelet extends transversely, a suture recess extending along a portion of a length of the body, having a predetermined depth below an outer surface of the body, and a suture pinch ramp disposed at a proximal end of the suture recess. The suture pinch ramp has a depth approximately equal to the predetermined depth at a distal end thereof and sloping outwardly in a proximal direction so that a depth of a proximal end of the suture pinch ramp approaches zero. An insertion member includes an insertion tube and a handle which is engageable with the anchor body to deploy the anchor in a selected bone site.
