An antenna bracket for electronic devices includes a solid bracket having an aperture formed therethrough. The solid antenna bracket has side walls that are rounded to a predetermined radius, and at least one antenna pocket positioned on said side walls. The antenna pocket receives and secures at least one antenna. The antenna bracket has a polygon shape that follows the contours of the electronic device housing.

An electronic device, such as a set top box comprises an enclosure that houses a circuit board having a peripheral edge positioned in the set top box. A heat sink has orientation features on its periphery that contact and orient the circuit board. Further, the heat sink has positioning tabs at a leading edge that contact a control surface on a rear wall of the set top box enclosure and orients the heat sink within the set top box. Antenna assemblies are positioned in corners of the set top box enclosure and adjacent to one of the vertically oriented walls, wherein the antenna assemblies are positioned outside the peripheral edge of the circuit board and the periphery of the heat sink.

A system and method for deterring animal interaction with woody plants is provided, including a wire mesh cage. The wire mesh cage is formed from one of a sheet of steel wire mesh and a stake cage. The sheet of wire mesh may be formed into a tubular configuration to surround a plant in need of the protection. The stake cage may be formed from a plurality of uprights arranged around a periphery of a plant, and at least one filament wound around the plurality of uprights to form the wire mesh. The wire mesh cage may further include a protective covering, in the form of a cap or coating applied to a top surface of the wire mesh cage. The protective covering militates against damage to a plant surrounded by the wire mesh cage. The protective covering may be formed from a polymeric compound having an animal detracting additive and an ultraviolet inhibitor.

Described is an electronic device, including a top frame, a bottom frame, a circuit board mounted above the bottom frame, a thermal pad mounted on the circuit board, a heat sink associated with the thermal pad and a plurality of springs for providing a biasing force that retains the heat sink against the thermal pad, the heat sink including a planar portion surrounding a central depression, wherein the plurality of springs secure the thermal pad of the circuit board between the central depression portion of the heat sink and the circuit board.

A heat sink for a smart card, the heat sink having a contact plate having a contact surface, a riser extending upward from the contact plate, and a hook extending upward from the contact plate and located opposite the riser is disclosed. A smart card socket having a frame having a slot for receiving a smart card, the slot being defined by at least one wall, and a smart card heat sink at least partially abutted to the at least one wall is also disclosed. Finally, a method of transferring heat energy away from a smart card, comprising the steps of associating a smart card heat sink with a smart card socket and positioning at least a portion of the smart card heat sink between at least a portion of a smart card and at least a portion of the smart card socket is disclosed.

Smart card heat sink

A video display apparatus includes a cathode ray tube and a high voltage transformer. The high voltage transformer incorporates a high voltage winding for producing an anode voltage in the cathode ray tube. The high voltage winding has a tap which provides a focus voltage for the electron gun assembly of the cathode ray tube. The transformer also includes a primary winding which is included in a resonant circuit. A third winding has a second portion that is wound to be closely coupled to the portion of the high voltage winding not associated with the generation of focus voltage. The third winding is coupled between the primary winding and a capacitor to produce a current that controls a variation of a ratio between the focus voltage and the anode voltage as a function of variation in a beam current in the cathode ray tube.

Passive compensation of focus tracking utilizing winding and capacitor

In a projection television receiver, a common switch mode power supply energizes the convergence circuits, and other load circuits of the projection television receiver. In normal operation, a switch couples a supply voltage produces in the common switch mode power supply to the convergence circuits. When, as a result of a fault, a supply current in the convergence circuits is excessive, the common switch mode power supply is decoupled from the convergence circuits and other load circuits remain energized and operative.

Power supply protection arrangement

A video display includes a scanner operable at a first frequency and a higher second frequency. A switch mode power supply drives a transformer with three secondaries. First and second rectifiers & filters are associated with the first and second secondaries. A rectifier is coupled to the third secondary and by way of a switch to the first filter. Feedback from the first filter controls the SMPS. In a first operating mode, the scanner is operated at the first frequency, the switch is open, the scanner supply is a first voltage from the first filter, and ancillary equipment is supplied with a third voltage by the second filter. In a second operating mode, the scanner is operated at the second frequency, the switch is closed, the scanner supply is a second voltage, higher than the first, from the first filter, and ancillary equipment is supplied with the same third voltage.

Deflection supply voltage feedback control in conjunction with frequency change

In order to enclose selected areas of a property from viewing by strangers, a structure is provided employing canisters with telescoping members. Screen rolls are provided which can be strung between the telescoping members when they are raised to a height desired by the user to screen an area from strangers to the owners of the property. The telescoping members may be driven between raised and lowered positions by a motor or a hand crank. In one embodiment, the structure is associated with a deck which may extend from a house, in which case the canisters may be secured to the deck floor or legs of the deck. In the alternative, the canisters may be buried full depth in the ground and the telescoping members rise out of the ground to support the screens.

A fluid-collecting receptacle includes a fluid-impervious base sheet having an upstanding perimeter lip, a sloping floor, and a fluid outlet in the floor. A porous support member is disposed atop the upper surface of the base sheet and a porous, flexible mat is disposed atop the porous support member. Openings in the mat and the porous support member permit fluid to be discharged onto the sloping floor where removal through the fluid outlet can be accomplished by means of a suction device. The device can be equipped with suction cups to prevent slippage or a rigidified foam core to strengthen the device and prevent slippage. In an alternative embodiment, the porous support member and the mat are replaced by a hinged sheet formed of a plurality of small basins each having a drain opening.
