Devices, systems, and methods are directed to the pneumatic ejection of liquid metal from a nozzle moving along a controlled three-dimensional pattern to fabricate a three-dimensional object through additive manufacturing. The metal is movable into the nozzle as a valve is actuated to control movement of pressurized gas into the nozzle. Such movement of metal into the valve as pressurized gas is being moved into the nozzle to create an ejection force on liquid metal in the nozzle can reduce or eliminate the need to replenish a supply of the metal in the nozzle and, therefore can facilitate continuous or substantially continuous liquid metal ejection for the fabrication of parts.

Pneumatic jetting of metal for additive manufacturing

A rail lock riser assembly comprising a rail interface having a cutout, top surface with a through-hole, and shoulders; a first collar portion having a top outer tongue and a groove, a bottom outer tongue and a groove, mounting shoulders and a through-hole in the top outer tongue; a second collar having a top inner tongue and a groove, a bottom inner tongue and a groove, mounting shoulders and a through-hole in the top inner tongue; and a locking bolt. The collar portions are joined at the top outer tongue and groove and the bottom outer tongue and groove. The combined tongues of the first and second collar portions is inserted into the cutout of the rail interface and secured by the locking bolt.

Rail lock riser

A modular battery pack comprised of multiple modular batteries arranged in series, in parallel, or in series-parallel combinations is described. Each of the modular batteries is comprised of a first pair of opposed keyed side walls for series connection between adjacent modular batteries, and a second pair of opposed keyed side walls for parallel connection between adjacent modular batteries. The modular batteries are only able to connect to each other when the keys are matched and aligned. Additionally, the opposed end walls of the modular batteries have specifically configured terminals that prevent the possibility of making undesired connections between adjacent modular batteries.

Modular battery pack

A protective housing for a circuit board mounted on an end of a cell is described. The protective housing includes a cut-out in its sidewall and a retaining wall centered in the cut-out. This provides a pair of gaps, one on each side of the retaining wall between the cut-out. These gaps are size so that lead wires extending from the circuit board are captured therein in a tight-fitting relationship. Consequently, the lengths of the leads extending from the protective housing of the cell to a quick disconnect at the distal end of the leads is precisely controlled. If desired, there can be more than one retaining wall providing a plurality of gaps for capturing a plurality of lead wires therein.
