Methods and compositions useful in papermaking and tissuemaking applications are provided. Some embodiments of the methods and compositions include a polyaminoamide polymer functionalized with an acrylamidophenyl boronic acid and a crosslinked polyaminoamide functionalized with an acrylamidophenyl boronic acid. The methods and compositions provide useful properties for creping that include good adhesion even under excessively wet conditions, improved film uniformity, and good film durability, while maintaining good film softness and rewettability necessary for efficient runnability of the tissue machine.

Use of boronic acid-functionalized polymers as yankee coating adhesives

Methods and compositions for improving performance of flocculants in an industrial production process. Methods include pH triggered cross-linking reaction between a flocculating agent, such as dextran, and a composition comprising a boronic acid-containing polymer. The pH trigger can be provided by a fluid having a pH of 8 or more. The production process can be a Bayer Process and the fluid is caustic liquor or slurry in the fluid circuit of the Bayer, wherein the reaction time is reduced over conventional methods and the cross-linked dextran composition effectuates improved flocculation of the trihydrate particles.

Recovery of mining processing product using boronic acid-containing polymers

A transitional treatment composition and methods of treating coal refuse are provided. The transitional treatment composition comprises an anionic acrylate-acrylamide copolymer having from about 30 mole percent to about 50 mole percent (meth)acrylate, from about 50 mole percent to about 70 mole percent (meth)acrylamide, and a reduced specific viscosity of from about 18 dL/g to about 30 dL/g. The transitional treatment composition can be made down in an aqueous liquid.

Method for improving overflow clarity in production of coal

Papermaking additives that include various polymers and/or micropolymers are disclosed. The micropolymers may have a network structure that can be created by crosslinking or other means. The micropolymer may be an acrylamide based polymer having a boronic acid moiety. The weight average molecular weight of the micropolymer may be greater than 1,000,000.

Emulsions of mobility control polymers can be used to increase recovery of crude oil from a subterranean hydrocarbon-containing formation. A flooding fluid comprising the polymer emulsions are injected into a well that is in contact with the subterranean hydrocarbon-containing formation. The polymers can be temporarily cross-linked via hydrolyzable crosslinking moieties derived from a multifunctional hydrazide, a multifunctional amine, a multifunctional hydroxylamine, or a combination thereof and have improved injectivity into the well; the improved injectivity can be measured in terms of the flooding fluid's filter ratio, flow rate, and viscosity.

Hydrazide crosslinked polymer emulsions for use in crude oil recovery

The farm implement of this invention is movable across ground along a direction of travel for tillage. The farm implement includes at least a frame and a disc/drive unit. The disc/drive unit includes first and second pluralities of discs, each having a ground-engaging outer periphery defining a plane angled acutely relative to the direction of travel. The first discs are angled to an opposite side of the direction of travel than the second discs. Positioned in front of the first discs is a ground-engaging driver rotatably coupled to the frame for rotating as the driver engages and is moved across the ground along the direction of travel. A driven flow controller is rotatably coupled and situated between the plurality of first discs and the plurality of second discs. The ground-engaging driver is operatively controlling and preferably accelerating the rotational speed of the driven flow controller.

Multi-function farm implement for treating soil

This invention pertains to equipment used in the custom fitting of golf clubs and in particular to a dustfree workbench for use by a golfsmith for customizing golf clubs having shafts manufactured from graphite, titanium or beryllium. The workbench includes a filtration system particularly designed for removal of the extremely fine particles generated in the cutting of golf club shafts, and characterized by the use of a series of high efficiency filters that the dust-laden air is passed through before being returned to the room. Grates placed within the upper surface of the workbench prevent larger items from passing therethrough and include dampeners for purposes of flow regulation. The filter assembly comprises a plurality of filter elements with various micron rating filters, referred to as coarse and fine, and assembled in order of decreasing porosity and placed in series and upstream of the blower.

Dustfree workbench for golf club shafts including underlying air

A tapering apparatus is mounted on a table platform for tapering a sheet of foam insulation. The apparatus utilizes a rotating wire through which a current is applied in order to heat the wire. The temperature of the wire is maintained above the melting temperature of the foam insulation so that the insulation is melt and cut as it is forced across the wire. A conductive wire forms an endless belt positioned around a pair of rotatable sheaves. The wire is responsive to the angular rotation of the drive sheave. The sheaves are vertically adjustable in order to set a desired height and cutting angle for the tapering of the sheet of insulation. The current flowing through the wire is controlled such that the wire is heated to a temperature above the melting point of the foam insulation. A variable speed motor is connected to the drive sheave which is used to rotate the wire about the sheaves. The sheet of foam insulation is then forced into the rotating wire. The heat and rotation of the wire evenly melts the insulation and tapers the foam insulation sheet as it is forced across the wire.

A first plurality of S-tines are supported by the frame and disposed behind the breaking and loosening mechanism. Each S-tine has a sweep disposed on a lower end thereof. A reel is supported by the frame and disposed behind the first plurality of S-tines. The reel has a plurality of blades for chopping debris and breaking soil clods. A second plurality of S-tines are supported by the frame and disposed in offset rows behind the reel. Each S-tine has a sweep disposed on a lower end thereof. A roller mechanism is rotatably supported by the frame and disposed behind the second plurality of S-tines. The roller mechanism mixes and blends the soil with a rolling action. A finished roller breaks down remaining dirt clods and seals moisture in the ground.
