A tester for a relay comprises an enclosure, a testing circuit that includes a controller, electronic switch components, a power source, indicator LEDs, a test start switch, a relay selector switch, and five electric leads each connected with one terminal of the relay. With the relay selector switch toggled to indicate the type of relay being tested, with power supplied to each lead, and with the test start switch actuated, the controller sets each lead to ground, in turn, and then count the number of other leads that are grounded as a result. The controller then illuminates the at least one indicator to indicate either the passing relay test or the failed relay test based on the counts measured. Once the leads connected to the relay coil are identified, cyclic testing of the relay can be performed.

Self configuring relay tester

Self-configuring relay tester

A current tester includes: a probe, a computing device for converting a voltage drop across a component to a current, and an output device for signaling a presence or non-presence of current. The computing device stores a pre-determined voltage drop/current relationship for the component. A method for detecting current in a circuit includes: connecting a current tester to the component, measuring a voltage drop across the component, converting the voltage drop to a current via the current tester, and producing a signal by the current tester indicating a presence or non-presence of current in the circuit. A method for detecting current in a circuit may also comprises: connecting probes of a testing device to a component in the circuit; determining via whether the probes are properly connected to the component; and determining a voltage drop across the component to determine the presence or non-presence of current.

Current tester

A testing device for a relay includes an enclosure for containing a circuit that includes at least one electrical socket adapted for selective engagement with a connector of the relay, a power source, a testing indicator LED adapted to convey a testing results indication, a power switch, and a testing IC adapted to run a series of tests on the relay when the relay is engaged with the at least one socket. In use, with the connector of the relay engaged with the at least one socket, power may be applied to the circuit such that the testing IC runs the series of tests on the relay by alternately activating and deactivating the coil power lines and measuring the resulting state of the armature line, the normally open signal line, and if available the normally closed signal line of the relay.

A device and methods for detecting current changes over a preset threshold in a circuit are provided. The device includes a housing for securing at least a circuit board therein. The device further includes at least one alerting device in electrical communication with and controlled by a micro-controller. The device also includes at least one input device fixed with the housing and configured so that a user may set conditions for the micro-controller. The meter also includes at least one detecting device for measuring a current reading in a circuit, and in electrical communication with the micro-controller. The micro-controller stores a current reading in the memory and the micro-controller then compares subsequent current readings to the stored current readings to calculate a current change. If the current change is greater than the preset threshold, the micro-controller activates the at least one alerting device.

Audible current monitoring device

The present invention provides a method and system for the reference, archival and retrieval of symbolically linked information despite idiosyncratic symbol usage. A master symbol database stores a plurality of master symbols, wherein each master symbol is formatted according to a predetermined structure. Each master symbol in the master symbol database is linked to a parent identifier that identifies a unique object. Users may archive or retrieve symbolically linked information in an information database by providing an input symbol. The input symbol is normalized and the master symbol database is searched to find a matching master symbol. The parent identifier linked to the matching master symbol is then used to retrieve or archive information in the information database.

Method and system for referencing, archiving and retrieving symbolically linked information

An electrical test lead includes an insulated electrical cable having a proximal end and a distal end, an electrical connector disposed at the proximal end of the cable and connected to a test instrument, and an electrically conductive magnetic probe disposed at the distal end. The probe is adapted to magnetically attach to a test point in an electrical system and to provide an electrical connection from the test point through the probe, the cable and the connector to the test instrument. Together, the test lead and the test instrument may be used as an electrical test kit. The test lead may further include an additional electrical test lead component magnetically attached, and electrically connected, to the electrically conductive magnetic probe and extending therefrom. An additional electrically conductive magnetic probe or a non-magnetic electrical connector may be disposed at the distal end of the additional electrical test lead component.

The present invention provides a method and system for the archival and retrieval of symbolically and categorically linked information preferably in the form of documents or data records. The method and system enables the archival and retrieval of information despite idiosyncratic symbol usage. A master symbol database stores a plurality of master symbols and a categorical symbol database stores a plurality of categorical symbols, wherein each master symbol and categorical symbol are formatted according to a predetermined structure. Users may archive or retrieve symbolically linked information in an information database by providing an input symbol. If necessary the system normalizes the input symbol where the input symbol may include either or both a master symbol and a categorical symbol. After the input symbol is normalized the system searches either or both the master symbol database and the categorical symbol database in order to find a matching master symbol and a matching categorical symbol. Information is then retrieved or archived base upon either or both the matching master symbol and the matching categorical symbol.

Method and system for symbolical linkage and intelligent categorization of information

A device for detecting intrusion for security or inventory control purposes includes a mat having loosely superposed metallic foil sheets separated by a sheet of paper or plastic foil dielectric to form a capacitor, and circuitry connected to provide a voltage differential to the capacitor and to detect a change in capacitance caused by weight applied to or removed from the mat. The circuit includes a voltage regulator to regulate the applied voltage differential, a unity gain amplifier to isolate the mat capacitor from change signal amplifier circuitry, a comparator to compare the amplified change signal with user settable thresholds, and a one-shot multivibrator for initiating an alarm signal pulse when one of the thresholds is exceeded. The sheets are preferably aluminum foil backed with plastic film and, in one form, are wrapped one around the other.
