Gooseneck coupler

A gooseneck coupler may be used on a towing vehicle to help tow certain types of towed vehicles, such as trailers. The gooseneck coupler may include a hitch ball attachment member selectively securable to a hitch ball of a towing vehicle, and a support member attached to the hitch ball attachment member, the support member including first and second ends. The gooseneck coupler may also include a trailer attachment member configured to secure a portion of a towed vehicle thereto, the trailer attachment member positionable on the support member between the first and second ends of the support member, where the support member is free of a telescoping relation with the trailer attachment member.

A channel mount coupler is shown and described. The channel mount may include a body, a socket extending from the body and configured to accept a hitch ball, and a channel mount extending from the body. The channel mount may include a first flange, the first flange including at least one aperture and at least one recess generally circumscribing the aperture, the recess being generally acircular, and a second flange spaced from the first flange. The channel mount may also include an engagement member engaged with the recess, and a fastener engageable with the engagement member and the at least one aperture, where engagement of the engagement member and recess prevents rotation of the engagement member during engagement of the fastener with the engagement member, whereby the first and second flanges are engageable with a towed vehicle.

A gooseneck coupler is shown and described. The gooseneck coupler may include a first member having at least one aperture, a second member having at least one aperture, the second member telescopingly engaged with the first member where the aperture of the first member is generally aligned with the aperture of the second member, and a base member attached with the second member, the base member having a socket shaped to accept a hitch ball. The gooseneck coupler may also include a locking member pivotally attached with the base member, and a fastening device securing the first and second members. The fasting device may include at least one nut attached with at least one elongated member, where the nut and elongated member are positioned within the second member, and a fastener inserted into the apertures of the first and second members and selectively engaged with the nut.

A gooseneck coupler may be used on a towing vehicle to help tow certain types of towed vehicles, such as trailers. The gooseneck coupler may include a first member, a second member pivotally attached to the first member, where the second member is capable of pivoting relative to the first member from a first position to a second position. The gooseneck coupler may also include an opening in the first member, the opening sized to receive a hitch ball, and a clinch mechanism located within the opening where the hitch ball is wedged between the clinch mechanism and the second member when the second member is in the second position relative to the first member.

A gooseneck coupler may be used on a towing vehicle to help tow certain types of towed vehicles, such as trailers. The gooseneck coupler may include a first tube, a base member attached to the first tube, and a locking member pivotally attached to the base member&#x2014;the locking member being capable of engaging a hitch ball. The gooseneck coupler may also include a locking mechanism attached to the locking member, where the locking mechanism is capable of securing the locking member in engagement with the hitch ball.

Apparatus, methods, and other examples associated with a hitch ball coupler are described herein. In one example, a coupler includes a body and a cap. The body and cap are pivotally connected on a first end. The body includes a first recess and a shoulder. The cap is selectively moveable between a closed position and an open position. The cap includes a second recess that selectively forms a socket with the first recess, and an arm extending from a second end that engages the shoulder when the cap is in the open position.

An embodiment of the present invention provides for a jack-winch assembly. The assembly includes a jack; a winch, secured to the jack; and a crank. The crank is independently engageable with the winch and the jack. The crank shifts between a first position, where the crank engages the winch, and a second position, where the crank engages the jack. In another embodiment, a jack-winch assembly is provided that includes a winch; a jack, secured to the winch; and a crank. The winch includes a base; a drum that is rotatably secured to the base; and a gear for driving the drum. The crank is engageable with both the gear and the jack to independently operate the winch and the jack. The crank includes an actuating member to shift the crank between a first position, where the crank engages the gear, and a second position, where the crank engages the jack.

The handle comprises an assist handle, a handle mount that is adapted to be supported by the bed for supporting the assist handle for movement relative to the bed, and one or more latch configurations for latching the assist handle in one or more fixed positions relative to the bed.
