A downhole placement tool includes an actuation () and a placement assembly. The actuation assembly includes a housing () having a fluid pathway therethrough and an actuation piston seated in the housing to block the fluid pathway. The actuation piston is movable by fluid applied thereto to open the fluid pathway and allow the fluid to pass therethrough. The placement assembly is connected to the actuation assembly (), and includes a housing () having a pressure chamber () to store the wellbore material () therein, a door (), and a placement piston. The placement piston includes a piston head () slidably movable in the housing, and a rod () connected between the piston head () and to the door (). The piston head () is movable in response to the flow of the fluid from the actuation assembly () into the placement assembly to advance the placement piston and open the door () whereby the wellbore material () is selectively released into the wellbore.

Downhole placement tool with fluid actuator and method of using same

A bailer bottom, bailer system, and method for performing bailer operations at a wellsite are disclosed. The wellsite is positioned about a wellbore penetrating a subterranean formation. The bailer bottom is deployable in the wellbore. The bailer bottom includes a plurality of downhole components and a select fire unit. The plurality of downhole components includes a cement unit which includes a cement chamber and a valve. The cement chamber has a port therethrough in selective communication with the wellbore via the valve. The select fire unit includes a downhole switch electrically coupled to the plurality of downhole components. The downhole switch has a polarity for each of the plurality of downhole components. The downhole switch is triggerable to selectively move between the multiple polarities to selectively pass a signal to one of the plurality of downhole components whereby the plurality of downhole components are selectively activated.

Select fire system and method of using same

A non-explosive, down hole, setting tool, system method includes a hydraulic fluid reservoir, a first compressible fluid for applying a first force against hydraulic fluid in contact with one side of a setting piston that is movable in the tool, and a second compressible fluid for applying a second force greater than the first force against the other side of the setting piston. Hydraulic fluid is pumped against one end of the setting piston to overcome the second force and move the setting piston. A reset valve is located in a hydraulic fluid return passageway that is connected between other end of the setting piston and the source of hydraulic fluid. The reset valve can move to selectively block the flow of the hydraulic fluid or allow hydraulic fluid to flow through the fluid return passageway, so that the setting piston can move the setting piston back to its start position. The tool can be calibrated by running the tool at a first predetermined voltage, automatically shutting off the tool when applied voltage exceeds a second predetermined voltage higher than the first predetermined voltage, and automatically restarting the tool after it is shut off when the voltage reaches a third predetermined voltage lower than the second predetermined level.

Pressure setting tool and method of use

A well tool with multi-stage remedial system improves the durability of a subterranean well tool having an expanded elastomeric member, such as a packer, for use inside a tubular member. The well tool with multi-stage remedial system has a plurality of mandrel members shiftable within the tubular member for anchoring and for setting the seal system. A floating tandem mounted annularly around the lower mandrel members has one end (upon shifting) proximate an end of the seal system, and the floating tandem has an opening to ambient bottom-hole-pressure of the subterranean well. A locking tandem is interposed with the floating tandem and at least one of the lower mandrel members. The floating tandem and the locking tandem together assist in abating elastomeric member extrusion under high temperature, high pressure environments as well as other conditions lending to failure within the well.
