A system for mechanically transmitting power from a common rotational drive shaft of a seeding implement to a geared outer periphery of a seed meter. The system includes a first transmission that connects to common rotational drive shaft, a flexible drive shaft coupled to the first transmission, and a second transmission coupled to the opposite end of the flexible drive shaft. A clutch assembly connects to a flexible drive shaft assembly to selectively allow power to be transmitted from the first transmission to the second transmission. The second transmission connects to the periphery of the seed meter. The seed plate of the seed meter includes a circumferential gear along a periphery to be driven by the second transmission.

Seed metering device drive system and method

A system for transmitting power from a drive shaft to a seed meter shaft of a seeder is disclosed. The system comprises a first transmission that connects to one of the drive shaft and the seed meter shaft. The first transmission also connects to a clutch assembly. The clutch assembly connects to a flexible drive shaft assembly, and the flexible drive shaft assembly connects to a second transmission. The second transmission connects to the other of the drive shaft and the seed meter shaft. The clutch assembly is detachable from the first transmission and the flexible drive shaft assembly and the flexible drive shaft assembly is directly connectable to the first transmission.

Seed metering device drive system

A transmission assembly for a string trimmer is disclosed. The transmission assembly comprises a liner that includes a sleeve. The sleeve includes an inner surface that defines a passageway for a rotatable core, and the sleeve further includes an outer surface. The liner further includes a plurality of legs that project from the outer surface, and a retainer projection disposed at a position axially adjacent to the plurality of legs. The transmission assembly further comprises a retainer that is held to the liner by the retainer projection. The retainer is configured to axially and radially restrain the liner relative to an outer down-tube.

Transmission assembly for a string trimmer

A flexible rotatable drive shaft is provided with a first male coupling that is received in a second female coupling located on a gearbox. The male coupling has two circumferential grooves that define a first fully engaged position and a second intermediate engaged position. In both engaged positions the male coupler is mounted to the gearbox, however only in the fully engaged position is the flexible rotatable drive shaft in a driving relationship with the gearbox. The female coupler is provided with a latch pin for selectively engaging the first and second circumferential grooves. The latch pin is provided with a circumferential surface for engaging the grooves and latching the flexible rotatable drive shaft to the gearbox and a recessed section for unlatching the flexible rotatable drive shaft from the gearbox.
