A centerline support bar for steam turbine component assembly, installation, and/or alignment is disclosed. In one embodiment, the support bar includes a body portion configured to be disposed across a centerline of a steam turbine, the body portion configured to transversely connect to a steam turbine component; and a first flange extending from the body portion and configured to contact a steam turbine casing, wherein the steam turbine support bar is configured to non-affixedly join the steam turbine casing to the steam turbine component.

A clamping and support system for a turbine is disclosed. The clamping and support system may include a support bar coupled with a lower diaphragm portion of the turbine. The support bar may have a protuberance extending from a first end portion thereof that may at least partially extend into a slot formed in the lower diaphragm portion of the turbine. The clamping and support system may also include a clamping bar coupled with a second end portion of the support bar. The clamping bar may at least partially extend into a slot formed in an upper diaphragm portion of the turbine such that at least a portion of the lower diaphragm portion and at least a portion of the upper diaphragm portion are interposed between the clamping bar and the protuberance of the support bar, thereby coupling the lower diaphragm portion with the upper diaphragm portion.

Method and apparatus for supporting and aligning diaphragms in turbomachines

A grid valve assembly for a steam turbine is provided. The grid valve assembly may include an annular stationary member disposed between an upstream stage and a downstream stage of the steam turbine. The annular stationary member may define a plurality of stationary member openings extending radially therethrough from an outer circumferential surface to an inner circumferential surface thereof. The grid valve assembly may also include an annular rotatable member rotatably disposed about the outer circumferential surface of the annular stationary member. The annular rotatable member may define a plurality of rotatable member openings extending radially therethrough.

A steam turbine with a drum rotor utilizing individual nozzle ring assemblies in the IP section incased by a single shell. In one embodiment, a steam turbine has a high pressure (HP) section with a double shell drum and an intermediate pressure (IP) section with a single shell drum, with the IP section including a plurality of individual nozzle ring assemblies axially spaced along the single shell casing, such that each nozzle ring assembly surrounds the drum rotor. In other embodiments, a low pressure section (LP) of the steam turbine can have a single-flow or dual-flow connection to a condenser, and the condenser can be positioned to the side, vertically below, or axially aligned with the LP section.

A steam turbine may include a turbine section including a rotor. An inner casing is provided about the turbine, the inner casing including an upstream end, a downstream end and an inner casing exhaust port positioned at the downstream end allowing exhaust steam to exit the inner casing. An outer casing is provided about the inner casing, the outer casing including an upstream end, a downstream end and an outer casing exhaust port positioned at the upstream end of the outer casing. A flow path extends between the inner casing and the outer casing through which the exhaust steam passes in an upstream direction from the inner casing exhaust port to the outer casing exhaust port. A flow barrier may be provided in the flow path between the inner casing and the outer casing.

A system for aligning a shell of a rotary machine with a standard along an axial centerline and a transverse centerline of the rotary machine includes a pair of generally L-shaped hooks on the shell; a generally T-shaped member comprising a base, a post, and a cross member provided to the standard; a pair of axial gib keys provided on opposing sides of the cross member, at least one of the axial gib keys configured to engage at least one of the L-shaped hooks and the other being configured to engage the shell; and a pair of transverse gib keys provided on opposing sides of the post, each transverse gib key configured to engage a respective L-shaped hook.
