A technique is described for evaluating code at a local computing device before deploying the code to a cloud computing platform to be compiled. In an example embodiment, class files including the code in a programming language associated with the cloud computing environment are loaded by a local computer system, for example, associated with a software developer. The local computer system then parses the code to identify elements in the code and checks the identified elements. Errors in the code are identified based on the checking and are displayed to a user (e.g., the developer), for example, via a graphical user interface of a code editor application.

Extensible Markup Language (XML) data is represented as a list of structures with each structure in the list representing an aspect of the XML. A set of frequently used elements is extracted from the list of structure representation and stored in packed vectors. The packed vector representation allows Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) instructions to be used directly on the XML data to increase the speed at which the XML data may be searched while minimizing the memory needed to store the XML data.

The method includes the steps of reading a stylesheet of the plurality of stylesheets, compiling the stylesheet into a set of abstract machine instructions specialized for stylesheet processing and executing the instructions on the abstract machine.
