A print cartridge identification system includes a housing, a family key provided on one side of the housing to identify an associated printer of the print cartridge, a fluid key provided on the one side of the housing to identify a property of fluid in the print cartridge, and a location datum provided on the one side of the housing to position the print cartridge in the associated printer.

Print cartridge identification system and method

A tool is provided that has a grasper adapted to selectively grasp a tearable medium, a conveyer adapted to selectively move the grasper along an axis to move the tearable medium against a tear-off edge to sever the tearable medium, and a controller adapted to transmit a first signal for instructing the conveyer to move the grasper and a second signal for instructing the grasper to grasp the tearable medium.

Tearing tool

A method and device for vacuum assist picking and placing a first component part relative to a second component part in preparation for ultrasonically welding the first component part to the second component part and ultrasonically welding the first component part to the second component part with the combination ultrasonic weld horn/vacuum pickup. A combination ultrasonic weld horn/vacuum pickup includes an ultrasonic weld horn including a vacuum conduit. A vacuum or negative pressure is directed through the vacuum conduit providing necessary suction at the tip of the weld horn to permit the weld horn to pick and hold a first component part during positioning of the part for welding to a second component part. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the conduit is formed as a bore milled along a longitudinal axis of the weld horn.

Combination ultrasonic weld horn/vacuum

A method and device for accommodating, by self adjustment, for part interface variations. A self adjusting fixture for accommodating for part interface variation includes a part support member having a first self adjusting member engagement element. The self adjusting fixture also includes a pedestal having a second self adjusting member engagement element engaged with the first self adjusting member engagement element to permit axial deflection of the part support member relative to the pedestal.

Self adjusting ultrasonic weld fixture

A fluid jet print cartridge has a cartridge body including a fine-dimension diaphragm portion bounding a printing fluid chamber. This printing fluid chamber is substantially filled with printing fluid, such as ink, by penetrating the fine-dimension diaphragm portion and injecting the printing fluid, while simultaneously using the penetrated diaphragm portion as a barrier to prevent upwelling of printing fluid outwardly of the printing fluid chamber at the penetrated diaphragm.
