An automatic safety window apparatus comprising: an alarm and transmitter unit located remotely from the window unit, the alarm and transmitter unit configured to transmit an open window signal when a threshold level of a gas or smoke is reached and to initiate an alarm; a window unit configured to attach to the interior of a window and face the interior of a room the window is located in, the window unit comprising: a chain actuator, the chain actuator comprising a chain that can exert a pushing force; a fan housing; a control board located in the fan housing, the control board comprising a receiver and a CPU, the CPU in signal communication with the receiver, and CPU in signal communication with the chain actuator, and the receiver in wireless communication with the alarm and transmitter unit, the CPU configured to transmit a signal to the chain actuator to open the window sash when the receiver receives an open window signal from the alarm and transmitter unit; wherein the chain actuator is configured to open the window sash via the chain exerting a pushing force on the window sash.

Automatic safety window apparatus and system

A packaging device and method for absorbing and reducing moisture as well as a manufacturing process for such device. The packaging device is a container made from paperboard such as containerboards or linerboards with a corrugated medium. The paperboard is insulated with moisture absorbing additives comprising charcoal, activated charcoal, activated carbon, or substances mostly comprised of carbon. Perforations may be added in the boards to further permit moisture to reach the corrugated medium, permitting further absorption by the additives embedded within the corrugated medium in between the boards. This packaging device and method is favorable for storing or transporting objects which are sensitive to or would benefit from low moisture/humidity conditions.

A manual pump dispenser includes a plunger head reciprocable between pressure and return strokes, and a pump body having an inlet valve for inletting of liquid product during each of the return strokes. A discharge valve assembly is fitted to a spout for permitting selective outletting of liquid product through the spout during each of the pressure strokes. The spout includes a bore having a predetermined diameter, with a unitary valve disposed substantially within the bore. The unitary valve is made of a material for permitting predetermined axial, or axial and radial expansion thereof under pressure from liquid product during each of the pressure strokes for thereby allowing liquid product to be discharged through a slitted opening in the unitary valve, and enabling rapid contraction thereof against a valve seat to prevent liquid product from being discharged through the slitted opening.

A layback swing includes an attachment that is coupled to a suspendible swing, either at an end-user location or at a place of manufacture. The layback swing includes two spaced apart curved elongated members having at least one acute bend in each. Also included is a back support portion that extends between a first portion of each included curved elongated member. The curved elongated members and back support portion are included for enabling an individual using the layback swing to safely and securely swing in a layback position. Methods and apparatus () are disclosed for accurately measuring low concentrations of boron in deionized water utilizing the chemical reaction of boric acid with a polyol by injecting very small plugs of concentrated polyol into streams of boron containing and non-boron containing water samples to produce an ionized acids product, and then measuring the conductivity difference (delta conductivity), corrected for interfering or extraneous factors which can effect conductivity, between such boron containing and non-boron containing samples using a conductivity and temperature detector ().

A fluid pump dispenser includes a spring biased pump piston having a generally hollow stem and reciprocable between pressure and return strokes within a pump cylinder therewith defining a variable volume pump chamber for dispensing fluid through a discharge opening at an outer end of the stem. The stem defines a valve controlled discharge passage leading from the pump chamber to the discharge opening. A driver nut may be mounted adjacent the pump piston and include at least one flange engaged with at least one respective spiral turn on a spindle disposed within the pump chamber to thereby rotate the spindle during reciprocation of the pump piston. A dip tube may be disposable within a container and affixed to the spindle for rotation with the spindle. A figurine may be mounted onto the dip tube for complementary rotation with the dip tube and the spindle.

Apparatus and methods for determining the content of total organic carbon, total inorganic carbon, total carbon and total heteroorganic carbon in water are disclosed. In a preferred comprehensive embodiment, the water sample is split into a first stream and a second stream. Inorganic carbon in the first stream, if any, is determined by acidifying the sample, measuring the electrical conductivity using a temperature and conductivity sensor, and removing the ionic species. Organic carbon in the first stream is then substantially completely oxidized in a U.V. oxidation reactor to carbon dioxide and possibly other oxidation products, and the electrical conductivity of the effluent- stream is measured using another temperature and conductivity sensor. At least a portion of the carbon dioxide in the first stream is transferred through a carbon dioxide permeable membrane into the second strewn. The second stream then passes into another temperature and conductivity sensor and conductivity is measured. Total carbon content, inorganic and organic carbon, and, if present, the heteroorganic organic content of the sample can be determined from the various conductivity measurements.

Apparatus and methods for the measurement of total organic carbon, total inorganic carbon and total carbon of water are described. The ample is acidified and split into an inorganic carbon stream and a total carbon stream. The inorganic carbon in the inorganic stream is oxidized and both the organic and inorganic carbon in the total carbon stream is oxidized. The resulting carbon dioxide is measured in each stream using carbon dioxide sensors employing a gas permeable membrane dividing deionized water from the oxidized sample water and a pair of micro-conductivity and temperature sensors.

Apparatus for the measurement of dissolved carbon in deionized water

A pump dispenser, useful especially for lotions, soaps and creams, has a structure which allows locking into a sealed and locked position. The pump dispenser may therefore be transported and stored without fear of accidental actuation or leakage. The dispenser has a valve stem which acts as an inlet valve, as well as a mechanism for sealing the inlet and outlet to the pump chamber when locked. The pump dispenser also has structure to seal the vent passage when in a locked position.
