In at least one embodiment, an active noise cancellation (ANC) system is provided. The ANC system includes at least one loudspeaker, at least one microphone and at least one controller. The at least one loudspeaker projects anti-noise sound within a cabin of a vehicle based at least on an anti-noise signal. The at least one microphone provides an error signal indicative of noise and the anti-noise sound within the cabin. The at least one controller is programmed to receive the error signal and a reference signal indicative of a gear shift that occurs over a predetermined time interval and to adapt at least one adaptive filter with pre-stored filter coefficients for the predetermined time interval to generate the anti-noise signal based at least on the error signal and the reference signal.

Apparatus, system, and method for providing a fast-acting engine order cancellation

An audio system is provided. The audio system includes a plurality of loudspeakers and a mobile device. The plurality of loudspeakers is capable of being positioned in a listening environment and being arranged to transmit an audio signal in the listening environment. Each loudspeaker is programmed to determine angle information of the audio signal as received at the loudspeaker relative to other loudspeakers of the plurality of loudspeakers and to transmit a first signal indicative of the angle information. The mobile device is programmed to receive the first signal from each of the loudspeakers and to determine a location for each loudspeaker in the listening environment based at least on the angle information.

The system includes at least one loudspeaker to project anti-noise sound in response to receiving a first anti-noise signal and at least one microphone to provide an error signal indicative of noise and the anti-noise sound. The system further includes a head tracker sensor to provide a first signal indicative of a position of a user's head and a first controllable filter programmed to modify a transfer function between the microphone and at least one remote microphone location to generate an estimated remote microphone error signal based at least on the error signal and the first signal. The system further includes a second controllable filter programmed to generate the first anti-noise signal to account for the position of the user's head at least based on the estimated remote microphone error signal.

An active noise cancellation (ANC) system is provided with at least one loudspeaker to project anti-noise sound within a passenger cabin of a vehicle in response to receiving an anti-noise signal and at least one microphone to provide an error signal indicative of noise and the anti-noise sound within the passenger cabin. An adaptive filter controller is programmed to filter the error signal to obtain a noise reduction ratio, and to adjust a step size and/or leakage parameter based on a comparison of the noise reduction ratio to a noise threshold. A controllable filter generates the anti-noise signal based on the adjusted step size and/or leakage parameter.

An audio system is provided that includes a loudspeaker, at least one microphone, and at least one controller. The loudspeaker transmits an audio signal into a listening environment defined by at least one wall in a room. The at least one microphone is positioned on the loudspeaker and is configured to capture a reverberated audio signal including a plurality of reverberations and a plurality of peaks. The reverberated audio signal is indicative of the audio signal being reflected from the at least one wall. The at least one controller is programmed to apply a confidence score to the plurality of peaks to obtain a maximum score which is indicative of a maximum peak of the audio signal that is reflected from the at least one wall and determine a distance between the loudspeaker and the wall based at least on the maximum score.

At least one microphone provides a first error signal indicative of the noise, the audio signal, and the anti-noise sound and a second error signal indicative of an estimated anti-noise signal. At least one controller is programmed to receive the first error signal and the second error signal and to provide an estimated impulse response based at least on the first error signal and the second error signal. The at least one controller is further programmed to compare the estimated impulse response to one or more pre-stored impulse responses; and to select a first pre-stored impulse response that matches the estimated impulse response to filter one or more reference signals at an adaptive filter to generate the anti-noise signal.

A road noise cancellation (RNC) system is provided with at least one loudspeaker to project anti-noise sound within a passenger cabin of a vehicle in response to an anti-noise signal; and a controller. The controller is programmed to: determine a coherence value between a noise signal indicative of road induced noise and an error signal indicative of noise and the anti-noise sound within the passenger cabin; estimate a noise reduction value based on the coherence value; filter the noise signal and the error signal based on the estimated noise reduction value; and generate the anti-noise signal based on the filtered noise signal and the filtered error signal.
