A laminate includes multiple paper layers, with at least one induction coil comprising first and second sets of windings. Two or more paper layers include the sets of windings comprising an electrically-conductive material. The sets of windings may be distributed throughout the laminate layers and provide good wireless induction charging performance in a compact space.

A packaging assembly is designed for an applicator that contains a buttress assembly that is used with a surgical stapler to reinforce a cut and stapled tissue site. The packaging assembly protects the buttress assembly from damage due to physical contact as well as exposure to adverse environmental factors like excess moisture, etc. In one example the packaging assembly includes a dual tray design with an inner tray that holds the applicator. The combined inner tray and applicator are hermetically sealed within a foil assembly or foil pouch. The foil pouch with the inner tray and applicator within is placed within the outer tray to protect the foil from damage.

A laminate having an integrated electrical component disposed within the laminate is disclosed. The laminate includes a first paper layer having at least first and second vias through the first paper layer; a first electrically-conductive layer, comprising an electrically-conductive material, disposed over a portion of the first paper layer; a second electrically-conductive layer, comprising the electrically-conductive material, disposed over another portion of the first paper layer; an electrical component disposed over the first and second electrically-conductive layers; and an insulating layer disposed over the electrical component. The first paper layer and the insulating layer encapsulate the first electrically-conductive layer, the second electrically-conductive layer, and the electrical component. The first and second vias are in electrical contact with the first electrically-conductive layer and a first terminal of the electrical component, and with the second electrically-conductive layer and a second terminal of the electrical component, respectively.

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to solid surface sheets and methods of making solid surface sheets, wherein the method comprises dissolving post-consumer recycled polystyrene in a first liquid resin precursor to form a blend, solidifying the blend via curing, grinding the solidified blend into recycled particles, adding the recycled particles and filler into a second liquid resin precursor to produce a solid surface precursor, and molding and curing the solid surface precursor to produce the solid surface sheet.

A decorative laminate is provided and includes a core with at least one epoxy resin impregnated fiberboard sheet. The decorative laminate also includes at least one decorative layer provided adjacent to the core. A method of forming a decorative laminate is also provided.

A decorative laminate having improved scratch and abrasion resistance is provided. In one embodiment, the decorate laminate includes a substrate or core, a decorative sheet on the substrate, and an overlay sheet on the decorative sheet. The overlay sheet is coated on both major surfaces to provide scratch and abrasion resistance to the laminate. The coating on the interior facing surface contains mineral particles having a particle size of from between about 10-30 microns. The coating on the exterior facing surface contains a mixture of first mineral particles having a particle size of from between about 3-8 microns and second mineral particles having a particle size of less than about 1.0 micron. The first mineral particles are preferably alumina particles, and the second mineral particles are preferably sol gel process alumina particles.

Wear-resistant decorative laminates

A decorative laminate assembly having a decorative laminate top layer assembly. This top layer assembly includes, in descending superimposed relationship, a decorative layer and a core layer that includes PETG, or other polymeric material. Preferably, the top layer assembly also includes a wear resistant overlay layer on top of the decorative layer, and the core layer's PETG is in a sheet form. The top layer assembly may be directly bonded to a water resistant substrate. The decorative laminate assembly of the present invention can be used for a variety of purposes, including flooring applications. When the present invention is used for flooring applications, it is preferred that the overlay layer has enhanced wear resistant qualities and that the water resistant substrate comprise PVC or cement fiberboard.
