A busbar current sensor assembly includes a busbar member that includes a first cavity and a second cavity. The second cavity is disposed opposite the first cavity. The busbar current sensor assembly also includes a first current sensor disposed in the first cavity such that the first cavity at least partially surrounds the first current sensor and a second current sensor disposed in the second cavity such that the second cavity at least partially surrounds the second current sensor.

A circuit interrupter apparatus for plug-in connection to a panel board. The circuit interrupter apparatus includes a line terminal for plug-in connection with a line power member provided as part of the panel board, a load terminal for plug-in connection with a load power member provided as part of the panel board, a moveable contact moveable between a closed position, where the line terminal is electrically coupled to the load terminal, and an open position, where the line terminal is not electrically coupled to the load terminal. The circuit interrupter apparatus also includes a sensor module for a plug-in connection to a number of signal conductors provided as part of the panel board. The sensor module detects whether the moveable contact is in the closed position or the open position and output a signal to at least one of the signal conductors indicating a current position of the moveable contact.

Method and apparatus for sensing the status of a circuit interrupter

A circuit breaker module is provided. The circuit breaker module includes: a frame assembly, a faceplate assembly, and a number of circuit breakers, the circuit breakers having an electrically conductive surface and an extending handle, the frame assembly having a front member and a back member, the frame assembly front member and the frame assembly back member being spaced from each other and defining an enclosed space, the frame assembly front member being electrically conductive, the faceplate assembly having an electrically conductive faceplate, the faceplate being a planar member with a number of openings therein, the faceplate coupled to the frame assembly front member, the circuit breaker disposed in the frame assembly enclosed space, and wherein the circuit breaker is in electrical communication with the faceplate and the frame assembly front member, whereby a current may pass from the circuit breaker to the frame assembly front member.

Grounded circuit breaker panel electrical module and method for grounding same

A matrix assembly is provided for an electrical system such as, for example, a power distribution unit for an aircraft. The electrical system includes an enclosure and a number of current carrying components such as, for example, electrical bus members, electrical switching apparatus, and/or fuses. The matrix assembly includes a matrix member having a generally planar portion, a plurality of attachment points for attaching the current carrying components to the generally planar portion, and a plurality of mounting points for attaching the generally planar portion to a thermally conductive structure such as, for example, an aluminum airframe structure. The matrix member is a thermally conductive liquid crystalline polymer. In addition to providing dielectric insulation, the matrix member also effectively transfers heat away from the current carrying components to the aluminum airframe structure, thereby reducing the temperature and corresponding electrical resistance within the electrical system and improving performance.

Electrical system and matrix assembly therefor

A circuit breaker panel includes a number of circuit breaker modules each having a number of connectors, a plurality of circuit breakers and a circuit structure supporting the circuit breakers and electrically interconnecting the circuit breakers with the number of connectors. The panel also includes a monitoring module having a connector and a monitoring circuit to monitor at least one line voltage and, for each of the circuit breakers, at least one load voltage. The panel further includes a frame having a first connector for the monitoring module connector, a number of second connectors for the circuit breaker module connectors, and a number of third connectors for outputs from the circuit breaker modules. Conductors are connected to the connectors. Any of the monitoring module and the number of circuit breaker modules can be installed into or removed from the frame without change to the conductors.

A thermally managed electromagnetic switching device () is provided that includes a current carrying component set () switchable between a closed, current carrying state and an open, current interrupting state. A thermally dissipating component set () functionally supports and electrically isolates the current carrying component set () in the open state. The thermally dissipating component set () includes at least in part a thermally conductive polymer and is cooperatively configured to transfer heat away from the current carrying component set () in the closed state to dissipate thermal energy.

Thermally managed electromagnetic switching device

A circuit breaker assembly includes a housing, an electrical bus structure coupled to the housing, and a number of first plug-in members coupled to the electrical bus structure. A number of circuit breakers include a first surface and a second plug-in member disposed opposite the first surface. The second plug-in member of each of the number of circuit breakers is mated with a corresponding one of the number of first plug-in members. A plate member is removably coupled to the housing. The plate member includes a first surface and an opposite second surface. The first surface of the number of circuit breakers engages the opposite second surface of the plate member in order to maintain mating of each of the number of circuit breakers with the corresponding one of the number of first plug-in members.
