The invention relates to an ostomy pouch. The pouchincludes inner and outer wallsof flexible sheet material which sealed about a periphery. The wallsdefine a cavity for containing a stomal output and a drainfor draining stomal output from the cavity. An opaque comfort layeris provided, at over an outer surface of the inner and/or outer walls. The drainis moveable between a deployed position for draining the stomal output from the cavity and a stowed position for storage of the drain, with at least part of the drainoverlying a portion of the comfort layerin the stowed position. The drainis substantially opaque on one side, and at least partly transparent on an opposing side.

Ostomy pouch

An ostomy appliance comprising an inner wall and an outer wall that define a cavity for containing a stomal output, the ostomy appliance having an upper section, a lower section and a waisted section that is located between the upper section and the lower section. The upper section has a maximum width (A) that is greater than a maximum width (B) of the lower section and the waisted section has a minimum width (C) that is less than the maximum width (B) of the lower section. The waisted section has a left-hand edge that is smoothly rounded and a right-hand edge that is smoothly rounded, and both the left-hand edge and the right-hand edge smoothly blend, respectively, into left-hand edges and right-hand edges of the upper section and the lower section.

Ostomy appliance

A method of forming an ostomy pouch comprising: providing a film to form a first cavity wall and a second cavity wall; providing a comfort material to form a comfort layer; wherein the comfort material is a woven fabric material with a hot melt adhesive coating thereon; joining the first cavity wall to the second cavity wall at a first temperature and a first pressure for a first time period; and subsequently joining a comfort layer to at least one of the first and second cavity walls at a second temperature and a second pressure for a second time period.
