A method, including receiving, from a consumer, a client device identification though an application running in a client device, is provided. The method includes matching the client device identification with a loyalty card for a retail store, identifying a shopping history for consumer, associated with the retail store, in a database, based on the loyalty card, and requesting, through the application, an information from consumer, based on the shopping history. The method further includes verifying the identity of consumer when at least a portion of the information matches the shopping history associated with the retail store, for consumer, and providing an offer to consumer, through the application running in the client device, of a product in the retail store. A system and a non-transitory, computer readable medium storing instructions to perform the above method are also provided.

A method for providing, to a consumer in a mobile device, a digital content to be displayed on the mobile device, is disclosed. The method includes requesting non-personally identifiable information from a consumer in a pixel script of the advertisement payload, tracking an event trigger in the pixel script, the event trigger configured to fire upon completion of a selected portion of the advertising payload, and modifying a consumer account based on the event trigger and the non-personally identifiable information. The method also includes providing an updated feature of the consumer account to a retail store when a configured rule in the pixel script is satisfied. A system including a memory storing instructions to cause the system to execute the above method is also provided.

The method may include providing for an interface between a widget management component and at least one of a network resource or a network service. The method may also include accessing, at the widget management component via the interface, at least one of a network resource or network service. Further, the method may include integrating the network resource or the network service with a widget functionality.

Apparatus and methods for managing widgets in a wireless communication environment

Methods, systems and devices for presenting marketing information to a customer based on proximity to marketing areas. A wireless identity transmitter associated with the customer may periodically transmit wireless broadcast messages that include obscured identifiers. A proximity broadcast receiver within a retail store, such as near a product display or aisle, may receive and relay the broadcast messages to a server which may process the included information. Based on proximity information and other conditions, the server may transmit marketing information relevant to the customer and a proximate marketing area, such as coupons and offers. In an embodiment, the server may store data based on broadcast messages that may indicate foot traffic and other information valuable to merchants. The server may also transmit messages based on stored permissions that indicate whether the customer desires to receive marketing information and whether the server is authorized to provide the customer's identity to merchants.

A method and system of providing custom background-downloads, where content is selected for background downloading to a subscriber based on an analysis of the current time, the subscriber's current location, and online transaction history records regarding a plurality of subscribers over time, each record indicating content that was a subject of the transaction. A custom content server may determine the subscriber's current location and the current time, and the server may then select transaction history records reflecting transactions that occurred in the past at a similar location and time (possibly just records for transactions involving the subscriber currently at issue). The server may then select one or more pieces of available content based on their similarity to the content indicated by the selected transaction records. And the server may background-download the selected content to the subscriber. The invention can be used to provide custom-channel definitions or custom content-catalogs, for instance.

Data is received that specifies at least one beacon associated with a first account and a first validity window specifying a time period during which the at least one beacon is to be associated with an additional account. Thereafter, a first entitlement is generated which, when registered by a second account, causes the at least one beacon to be associated with the second account until expiration of the first validity window. Prior to registration of the first entitlement and additionally outside the first validity window the at least one beacon is associated solely with the first account. After the registration of the first entitlement, the at least one beacon is caused to be associated with the second account during the first validity window. Methods, systems and devices for locating a wireless identity transmitter with a central server connected with one or more proximity broadcast receivers, such as stationary receivers or mobile devices operating as wireless receivers. The wireless identity transmitter may be a compact device configured to broadcast messages, such as through Bluetooth&#xae; advertisements, including an identification code. When within proximity, a proximity broadcast receiver may receive broadcast messages from the wireless identity transmitter and relay location information along with the wireless identity transmitter's identification code to a central server as sighting messages. The proximity broadcast receiver's own location may provide an approximate location for the wireless identity transmitter. The central server may process sighting messages, which may include signal strength information, to accurately locate the wireless identity transmitter. The central server may transmit data to third-party devices and/or mobile devices of users in response to receiving sightings messages.

Yet, for handheld communication devices with limited storage, the adaptive media distribution system further allows legacy devices to receive on demand services via streaming, albeit with the requisite relatively long latency associated with cellular multimedia services.

Optionally, the aspects further include reducing a size of the first portion of the updated content in the first content update message, thereby defining a first compressed portion of the updated content.
