Caloric stimulation and pressure stimulation can be applied to the ear for treatment of neurological disorders, such as migraine, pain, and headache. Heat can be applied first to increase the sensitivity of the mechanoreceptors in the ear. The pressure can be applied after heating to produce a stronger neurological response than would occur without the heating. In some cases, cooling can be used. Valves can be used to direct fluid flow to a right ear, a left ear, or both. Valves can be used to transition the system between an irrigation or caloric mode and a pressure mode. Green eyewear can be used for therapeutic relief.

The magnetically driven pressure generator oscillates the flexible member to increase or decrease the volume of a chamber, inversely increasing or decreasing the pressure of the chamber.

A containment system, and methods of making and using such a containment system, whereby the containment system includes a container having a container sidewall disposed between opposing container first and second ends; a cavity disposed in the container sidewall; a cover concentrically disposed about the container sidewall; and an aperture element disposed in the cover, the aperture element defining an aperture element opening communicating between cover inner and outer surfaces. The cover is rotatable about the container sidewall between first and second positions. In the first position, the aperture element opening aligns with the cavity, thereby allowing access to the cavity. An assembly for supporting at least one item while in transit within a vehicle having cushioned passenger seating. The assembly used during transit within a vehicle, has: a platform (for supporting the item) that has an aperture for receiving at least one primary support-post therethrough, and a plurality of recesses; an anchor for releasably securing the assembly between cushion structures within the vehicle is used (e.g., such that it can be wedged into the spacing between back support cushion and seat cushion). The anchor comprises a base member having a free end and a bulbous end, between which a pedestal extends having a recessed shape, such as a cup, for receiving a lower end of the primary support-post. The bulbous end can be fabricated integral with the base member, or made of one or more hinged-sections interconnected with the base member. At least a portion of the outer surface of the primary support-post is preferably threaded, around which a mating internally-threaded leveling ring can twist. Also, an assembly for supporting at least one item while in transit from location to location, wherein the anchor and primary support-post and leveling ring are not operationally assembled.

Device for supporting an item(s) while in transit within a vehicle having passenger seating and when carried from location to location

A unique collapsible apparatus for supporting an article; the apparatus has at least a first, second, and third leg assembly, an upper end of each leg assembly pivotally secured to extend from an upper support member in a generally symmetrical fashion. A lower end of each leg assembly pivotally secured to extend from a lower support member (which may be in the shape of a collar). Each leg assembly has a unique hinge-fitting interconnecting a first and second elongated subassembly; a hinge-fitting may comprise a first and second extension pivotally enjoined. Each hinge-fitting permits a pivot range of rotation; preferably, this pivot range may be up to 90-degrees, up to 170-degrees, or just under 180-degrees. The elongated subassemblies may each be comprised of a plurality of telescoping tubular sections adapted for interlock. The telescoping tubular sections of an elongated subassembly may be sized for interchangeability with telescoping tubular sections of another elongated subassembly. Upper support member may have a plurality of fork extensions to which upper ends of the leg assemblies are pivotally secured. Upper support member may have an aperture for accepting an article, e.g., aperture will be sized to accept the periphery of the article. Lower collar support member may be adapted for accepting a lower-end of the article for placement on/in connection with a ground.

A retainer for removably holding an elongated item to a larger member including the following features: a closed-loop band having elasticity for arrangement around a periphery of the larger member; and a loop for retaining the elongated item, wherein first and second ends of this loop protrude from a wall of the band. Also, a retainer including the band and a looped portion (integrated with the band) that has a taper angled to guide an end of the elongated item into the loop to be retained thereby. The band may have an outwardly-facing grip surface against which the elongated item can lean. The loop/looped portion, whether it has a taper, can have gripping teeth or suitable textured surface. A system comprising a retainer with its band arranged around the periphery of a larger member. A method of removably holding an elongated item to an outside wall of a larger member including: arranging a closed-loop resilient band around a periphery of the larger member, the band having first and second ends of a loop protruding from a wall of the band; and guiding an end of the elongated item into and through the loop along a taper. Or, arranging a band having a looped portion protruding from a wall thereof; and guiding an end of the elongated item into and through the looped portion so that once retained therein, a top-end of the item is oriented out and away a distance from the larger member.
