A composition containing a quaternary organosilane foaming agent capable of foaming various liquids in order to remove the liquids from subterranean wells is described. For instance, the composition can be used to remove hydrocarbon condensate liquids from a gas well or an oil well. Of particular advantage, the composition can foam liquids containing substantial amounts of hydrocarbons.

A corrosion inhibitor composition and a method of inhibiting corrosion on a surface are disclosed. The corrosion inhibitor composition includes at least one nitrogen containing heteroaromatic compound and at least one haloalkynyl carbamate compound. The corrosion inhibitor composition may be utilized with acidizing treatments for wells, in particular for the production of oil, gas, and/or water.

A method of reducing the amount of sulfhydryl compounds from sour hydrocarbon fluids is described. In the method, an aldehyde-releasing compound, which is high temperature stable and is highly water-soluble, is introduced to a hydrocarbon fluid stream as a scavenger for sulfhydryl compounds. The aldehyde-releasing compound is allowed to mix with the hydrocarbon fluid stream and the aldehyde-releasing compound is allowed to react with the sulfhydryl compounds present in the hydrocarbon fluid stream, thereby reducing the presence sulfhydryl compound in the hydrocarbon fluid stream.

Method of scavenging hydrogen sulfide and/or sulfhydryl compounds

A stabilized composition is disclosed which contains at least two biocides, particularly at least two non-oxidizing biocides. In one embodiment, the composition contains a phosphonium sulfate compound combined with a dialkyl dimethyl quaternary amine compound. In order to stabilize the composition, an alkyl trimethyl ammonium compound is added to the composition. In one embodiment, the stabilizing agent produces a single phase composition. With the aid of the stabilizing agent, the single phase concentrated compositions can be produced that can later be diluted for use. In one embodiment, the composition may be used to treat aqueous systems in industrial applications.

Stable composition for controlling biological growth and method for using same in oil field applications

The invention relates to a method for the prevention and removal of HS and/or other sulfhydryl compounds and iron sulfide deposits from gas and/or liquid streams in industrial process systems. Formulations comprising aldehydes, aldehyde donors, and/or aldehyde stabilizers, excluding triazines, in combination with the reaction product of an amino acid and a hydroxymethylphosphine or hydroxymethylphos-phonium salt, and optionally a quaternary ammonium compound and/or one or more N-hydrogen compounds such as 5,5-dialkylhydantoin or amines, are rapidly and sustainedly scavenging HS originating from process and/or microbial sources. The formulations possess high capacities for HS removal and are relatively pH-insensitive.

Process and composition for the removal of hydrogen sulfide from industrial process fluids

Disclosed are compositions for stabilizing a source of active halogen in aqueous solution. The compositions comprise (i) at least one substituted N-hydrogen compound, such as 5,5-dimethylhydantoin, and (ii) at least one additional nitrogen compound selected from ammonia, ammonium salts, and nitrogen compounds containing no carbon-hydrogen bonds, the molar ratio of (i) and (ii) being in the range of 50:1 to 0.02:1. Active halogen-containing aqueous solutions stabilized by the above compositions are particularly useful for controlling microbial and planktonic growth in aqueous systems such as process liquids in the pulping or papermaking industry. The compositions are also useful in reducing the corrosivity of halogen-containing solutions.

Microbial growth in an aqueous system containing borohydride residues is controlled by adding an aldehyde or aldehyde source, followed by adding an active halogen biocide. The active halogen biocide is preferably stabilized by an N-hydrogen compound.
